What Paige Bueckers did with her Espys speech at 19 years old was set the tone of what was acceptable and not acceptable in her fan base. she let everyone know what she stood for and what she didn’t stand for and CC simply never did that.

What I’ve noticed is that they want black influencers to always be “agreeable” and “grateful” almost to the point of graveling for the attention of a mainstream aka white beauty audience.
Tbh, I got love for everyone but I just wanna focus my time on black beauty influencers and content creators. They deserve sooo much more than the industry gives them.
And GOD FORBID that influencer reaches a level that surpasses “struggling” and they’re now living good so, they demand more money for business deals such as collaborations, phrases like “keep it classy” or “stay humble” starts to get thrown around by the “beauty community”
@jackieaina
Yes. All the time because I am plus sized and tall. No one likes a woman who makes some men look like children. This is an old picture but it’s for reference for my 5’10 stature
Paige Bueckers basically went out of her way to make sure that none of her competitors or teammates dealt with racial harm. CC did not. This is why most black female basketball fan feel comfortable rooting for Paige

my mom took my Labronze highlighter last week and demanded me to teach her how to use it. I obliged and now she won’t give it back. She says “you can buy another one.” I since told her that it’s limited edition. Her current mood:
I am ALWAYS going to support black women who consistently support and uplift other black women. It’s the reason why I love and support anything
@jackieaina
do
Tbh,
@CocoaSwatches
has done sooo much for the black beauty community and she deserves all her FLOWERS!!!! She swatched products for darker skin before retailers and brands thought it was important do so.
If it wasn’t for OG influencers like
@jackieaina
and
@CocoaSwatches
the beauty community favorite topic wouldn’t be a thing. Jackie literally been screaming about shade ranges since 2009 and the “mainstream beauty community” didn’t care until 2016.
It’s disappointing to watch how white drama channels treat black influencers. They always use phrases like “humble yourself” which sounds A LOT like they’re implying “Know your place, darkie”
As a black beauty influencer, you could win an freaking IMAGE AWARD and still be told to “keep it classy” or humble yourself” because you choose to dance to hip hop music in a closet filled with custom wigs designer and clothes that you got it out the mud for since 2009
It’s frustrating that the “community” feels like black influencers can’t demand for more while instead demanding them to stay “humble” while the “mainstream” is out here WYLIN OUT!!!!
@jackieaina
My Gram finally granted him the divorce in the early 80s because SHE wanted to marry her MAN!!! She told me that he had to pay somehow for what he did to her and her kids.
@jackieaina
Lol. Since we are talking about grams My mom’s father left with 4 kids and 1 on the way. Gram wouldn’t divorce him when he wanted to marry a new woman. She told him, in front of his new woman How tf are you going to have a new family when you can’t even take care of this one
I like how
@jackieaina
is honest about her experiences in the beauty community without being messy. She has so many reasons to be bc how some people treat her. Its very Michelle Obama of her.

I see a lot of people calling me a racist and fatphobic comments as a response to my point. Ok. 1, I know that I’m fat lololol. 2, this just proves my point about that girl from Iowa. She had to be asked after it got out of hand. Y’all are being obtuse.
My xmas pic with my sister and our best friend Kina from the last 3 years. My sister is the tallest. Kina is the shortest. I wouldn’t know what to do without these 2. Happy holidays everyone!!!!!!

As a black woman working retail, I ‘be noticed the amount of white women who slides their payments on the counter instead of handing it to me. Especially older white women My hand could be out and they would still slide the money/check/card on the counter. STOP THAT SHIT SUSAN

When a woman in my age group calls me Honey or sweetheart. Or when a man I do not know AT ALL calls me anything but my name or Miss. My instant mood:

Girl I have an aunt that question my entire existence as an adult. The Gag: she has a lisp at 65+. One time I fed up with her and told her to pronounce her “S” correctly before coming for me. We haven’t talked since...
Y’all black beauty boy keep going to smile in Jigsaw’s face for a dusty ass palette and dry ass liquid lipsticks and have him call you a Nigger in the group chats then expect the rest of the black beauty community to rally behind you when he actually say it to your face.
