What happens when the extent of #change a country requires to remain prosperous, peaceful, and respectful toward its citizens, humanity, and nature far exceeds the tolerance of its people? Is this where modern #democracy reaches its limits? Could it be time for a #dictatorship of #objective reason—one empowered to make the difficult yet necessary decisions that professional #politicians would avoid in fear of jeopardizing their electoral support? In recent times, some nations have opted for a dictatorship of #subjective reason, and I predict dire consequences stemming from this subtle yet critical distinction.

Nun kann man sich fragen, ob es das verwaschene Angebot ist, welches den Souverän verwirrt oder die Abkehr von der intellektuell engagierten eigenen Meinungsbildung. Komplexe Probleme haben nie einfache Lösungen und wer das verspricht, lügt offensichtlich. Kann mit solchen Parteien, Politikern und Bürgern unsere Form der Demokratie noch funktionieren? Im Fußball wird schon nach dem objektiven KI-Schiedsrichter gerufen, das dauert dann noch einige Jahre und wir haben den KI-Richter oder den KI-Kanzler. Dann herrscht objektive Vernunft (abhängig vom Training des zu Grunde liegenden Modells…). Ob das dann besser ist?

Hier ein schönes Beispiel, das zeigt, warum man eigentlich schon lange weiß, dass man Autos heute anders und mit weniger Handarbeit bauen muss, um im Preiswettbewerb nicht völlig abgehängt zu werden. Und ja: reparaturfreudiger mag die gute alte Art der 1000 Teile sein, aber das wird beim Verkauf vermutlich nur von den wenigsten hinterfragt, wenn der Neupreis geringer ausfällt.

I found a great episode of This Day in AI Podcast. Listen along here: My thought : why would my computer have to take screenshots to feed them into an AI model running on my GPU which had just created the screen content? In my world, we would just skip that and feed the stream of graphics directly on the GPU into the model to let it know what happens and to consider what to do next. #notetoself #ai #llm @thisdayinai
