why in 2024 is this behaviour towards female physios/therapists still happening?! people think it’s funny/acceptable, making derogatory comments at games they class as “banter” for simply doing our jobs (just because we’re women)… we’ve worked hard to get to where we are!! Smh
As a club we’ve taken the decision to delete our previous post, announcing the signing of our new physio Issy. It’s disappointing to have read so many harmful comments towards our newest member of the team and we won’t allow her to be subjected to such vile comments.

Also it’s a reminder for clubs (at any level, with any duty of care to their players) that medical staff are worth their weight in gold. They’re not just an additional annoying expense, they save lives and will be helping all players with their personal welfare & mental health.

I’ve been at Maidstone over 3 years and never experienced a day like today. Coming into training and not seeing a lot of the boys who are like a second family, knowing they want to be in but can’t be. Yea players come n go in footie, but this kinda uncertainty is just v weird 🙁

This is spot on. Even at the best of times, medical staff are paid so little in comparison to others but have huge responsibility and pressure to deal with everything. There has to be an incentive somewhere, as well as a level of respect for what we do and our years of training.
Need to rant..
CLUBS, do not expect physios, sports therapists to come to your club for “experience” when we return to football.
It’s an insult, what physios, sport therapists do for players physical, emotional and mental wellbeing shouldn’t be taken for granted!
