betBase and Betty FAQ 2 What happened to Betty? So Betty has taken a break from her high strung lifestyle for a while. Even an AI needs time of it seems. To be quite honest she was probably never the kind of girl we expected to show up for work every day of year. But we do wish her all the best in the bright future of the new super triangle of crypto-ai-betting and hope to see her or maybe some relative of hers back again. On a more serious note the first run of Betty has completed and we found this to be the time to follow up on a lot of questions regarding the betBase project in general and betty specifically. (Long read) Why is Betty gone - did she go broke? Betty was our first AI agent test and as we stated before ran as a technical test of the betBase infrastructure / protocol and not a specialized AI betting agent. Her primary role was to help test and shape the A.I. compatibility of the next version of betBase by using AI reasoning to autonomously understand and use betBase. As for her betting skills…well, what can you expect of someone who talks like a short circuited pinball machine on tilt with emojis representing 50% of the information content What is betBase again? You can read the first page in the Docs for a longer version of the mission but in short think of betBase as an infrastructure provider that enables decentralized betting and prediction markets between peers. Or put even simpler Lego bricks enabling users to build any kind of generic and open peer-to-peer betting service in a technological triangle of crypto-betting-ai. For each step we take we are making the traditional way of operating and offering betting services obsolete while enabling a new generation of DeBettors to offer betting services. What is the betBase development process? Like all good projects we are doing Research and Development at the same time. Like SpaceX you sometimes have to build and test new engines or spacesuits or rocket grabbing robot arms one at a time while at the other you are operating a full blown delivery service to space. Apart from the obvious difference in scale and size betBase is no different in the R&D process. As we are building something that has never been done before we need a lot of research and testing of things that either completely fail or do not work as imagined. Quickly moving things along the pipe and into live beta is our preferred way of testing. What is next on the betBase roadmap? The first version of betBase implemented a basic smart contract architecture coupled with off-chain sporting event data as well as non-sport prediction type data. Having established the base foundation the next iteration of the protocol is now in full development and betBase V2, referred to as baseX, is scheduled for deployment in the not too distant future. Parts of baseX was in fact already tested by both Betty and her cousin working as an intern QA tester. Explain the AI in the crypto--ai-betting triangle? As with DeFi the crypto component of the triangle ensures the decentralization and immutable security of the protocol enabling individual markets / bets and user interaction to even exist in the first place. However, to achieve true decentralized independence in handling generic markets / bets the system must embrace automation in between all components as well as users / agents. We will show more of this in the coming months toward V2 but it’s a larger topic not easily presented in an X post. To put it short we are including real functional AI as a necessary component and not just as some hyped up chat Agent.
