Reversed Hanlon evolution explains how the source of software issues has gone from incompetence/lack of budget to malice/lack of focus on what the user wants. The driving force is supposedly "free" software, where the user is a product being sold to third parties.

Slack sending me invite emails to join spam workspaces and "action required" reminders without an option to "never send me these invites ever again" must be breaking some anti spam laws.

@entdark_ I am attempting to install a new laptop where they have gone to great lengths to prevent any known way to create a local account without a Microsoft account.

@ingnl I am a customer and I am complaining that you have removed the option that best suits my needs. Your response is completely missing this point.

@ingnl You are taking a dependency on a service without alternatives: a card is a step backwards and Apple Pay is not on Android. Besides the privacy risk to your customers, there is a financial risk: Google now controls you. Ask any website that depends on ads how that works out.

I like to peek in a bit every now and then to confirm what a good decision this is.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not after your data.
