@elliotthaut Well…you don’t need an RCT to know you should probably wear a parachute if jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet. Vein is 1st choice but PTFE is ok in a pinch (see Feliciano data from Grady). Suspect we will never know the “true” answer in trauma though…

Another REBOA paper. Until we have a randomized controlled trial, we will not have an answer. In the meantime, propensity score matching doesn’t account for unmeasured confounding. Need better methods - Difference in difference and instrumental variables may help #AAST2022

We are just beginning to understand the financial implications of injury on our patients. The affordable care act allowed for expansion of Medicaid and some hospitals are better at helping patients sustain Medicaid. This is great work at #AAST2022!
