@sportsrapport The problem for ESPN is they can’t do anything to match the impact of Sunday Night Baseball on Netflix

When the NFL had a product crisis during Peyton Manning’s time with the Broncos, they addressed it Broncs were doing all sorts of pick plays. The NFL recognized ‘that’s lame football’ and pick plays got banned. @NBA needs to address the 3-point line in a similar way
Amen Thompson stands in the corner, waiting for a catch-n-shoot 3 and the NBA wonders why ticket prices have cratered and ratings are down…

@JESnowden Oh yeah I remember. That was really good. If memory serves this was around the time I gave you some WOAT advice to go to Deadspin haha

@JESnowden Ah I see what you’re saying. One thing that does suck imo is fight fans seem totally uninterested in feature-length articles. Maybe the media is partly to blame because for a while all the features seemed to be anti-UFC haterism. But I’d love to see Wright Thompson type stuff

@JESnowden Haha this is a fair point. But look I don’t think pieces on how NFL players train & prep, body deterioration, etc. attract nearly the interest that signings, trades, holdouts and other Schefterian stories

@JESnowden 2/2 But then we saw all these examples of fighters drawing massively more when attached to the UFC name (Ngannou being the latest example) and it became clear this isn’t like boxing. Fight fans like UFC; they’re OK with them not having all the big name fighters

@JESnowden Well look this I agree with… with a caveat Sports fans mostly don’t care about the business side, but they are curious about it. E.g. stories about the NBA TV deals did numbies, whilst few NBA fans follow the collapse of RSNs, which is affecting contracts & trades

@Sam4TR Super Bowl has been rendered lame in record time. For the NFL’s sake I hope they recognize the problem

No wonder Brady and Belichick didn’t get along. Belichick has always been a tape skeptic. He wants players who understand the rules, the game, situations, and the general principles of competition. In this clip Brady sounds like a tape guy
MUST WATCH on how Brady used film study to win at the highest level: My magic superpower wasn’t how fast I could run It was how fast I could diagnose what they were doing I could figure out what they were doing before they did it I didn’t snap the ball unless I knew my guys would be open People aren’t paying attention to the right thing
