The new O' Level curriculum is a win for many learners whose fate was based on only summative assessments. With the new curriculum, whatever the learner does in school contributes to his/her final results. A lot of students' good work was going unnoticed because it was not making it to their transcripts but now, teachers have to submit records of students marks from school to UNEB which are added on to their final exam result in order to get UCE results. Much as the curriculum execution still has challenges especially for schools that have no resources, but as an educator in the practical subject like performing arts (drama and film), I think this is the right direction. Just need for more capacity building and sensitising the public (parents, employers and students) about interpreting the program. @UNEB_UG @Educ_SportsUg

Green screen scenes are the hardest especially for an actor who struggles with concentration. An actor should be able to suspend disbelief, have a high level of spatial awareness and stay in character throughout the time the camera is rolling. Your imagination needs to be at the top to see and react to things, conditions and objects that are not existing.

Ugandan/African filmmakers need to find time and sit down to understand their own value. There are so many opportunists who come bragging to give chances and platforms to us/you as a form of exposure (we are helping the industry) but most of those people are using footage and videos from the events to source for funds (which they still get in large amounts) but they never tell you. You continue to give them your films/work free of charge yet most of them don't even give cash rewards or even screening fees etc. Well........you all are in the film business for different personal reasons and the end justifies the means for each one of us!

UGANDA COMMUNICATION COMMISSION ISSUES PUBLIC WARNING TO TV STATIONS After last week's meeting between @UCC_ED, UCC officials and filmmakers at UCC House to discuss the ongoing copyright infringement (local and foreign films) by local television stations and other online websites like Munowatch etc, now @UCC_Official has published a public notice about the practice. This action is one of the first into the direction of legal fight against thieves who disrespect creative work. When the time for arresting offenders, canceling licences and closing platforms comes, no one will say that they were not told.
