The capture artists poured so much into this project. They reveled in the focus on 1st person gameplay and really captured what makes Destiny an amazing shooter.
It also took hundreds of takes to get the enemies and abilities to line up just right. The cold open is take 131.

D2TFSDGP was inspired by the old E3 long form demo videos. Like the OG Destiny gameplay reveal or the more recent 2016 God of War reveal.
IMO these kind of cuts do a great job of bottling up the feeling of playing.
But also these are hard.

Harder to capture, harder to edit, takes way more time… overall a really daunting pitch to share.
But the team got excited, so we all leaned into it. We knew the expansion was awesome. We saw all the hard work across the studio. We wanted to let the Final Shape speak for itself

On D2TFSDGP our editors did the story crafting: cutting the interviews into a compelling narrative for a complicated feature.
They also worked with audio to get single instrument layers of TFS soundtrack and made custom musical arrangements to match these gameplay sequences

Scheduling these busy devs is 1 challenge out of 100 our producers tackle. They feed the cast and crew, they keep the video on time, they have awesome input, they connect people across the studio… it’s amazing.
Fun fact: we localize everything we make, producers rock for that.

I remember watching the very first Destiny ViDoc as a fan and being swept up in the wonder and passion of everyone involved.
Today (ten years later) we released the ViDoc for Lightfall. I still feel that wonder, but now more than anything, I feel so proud of my team.
