The cause of this afternoon's outage was #PublicPower Enemy #1. a squirrel. The sneaky critter wandered between 2 phases on Concord Ave., cutting power for over 1,000 customers at 12:23pm. We were able to reenergize about 400 customers at 12:39pm and the remaining 600 at 1:06pm.

On Friday afternoon, icy conditions caused a car to hit a utility pole on Winter St. No one was injured in the crash, but the pole was left cracked. Belmont Light crews quickly changed out the pole. There was no disruption to electric service as a result. #belmontma #publicpower
