For Mother’s Day, I’ll be spending it in a tent. Tomorrow is my daughters 16th birthday. She said she’s NOT having a get together with her friends that was willing to travel just to come see her because she is ashamed of being in this tent. My twins have been getting bullied.
It’s Mothers Day on Sunday and thousands of mums and kids will be sleeping in cars.

This was the most terrifying thing to happen when you’re living in a tent. Too much rain and the tents give way, wetting everything you own especially your kids. Having drips of water land on you is bad enough… constant maintaining the tent causes sleeplessness

Last few days I’ve been having phone calls with dept of education. They informed me I would get a fine if the kids did not go to school.
So I told them if they didn’t have the enrolment requirement of a “lease” for “proof of address” then the kids would of been at school already

So good news everyone… two lovely men have offered to help me get my car on the road. Matthew paid for a clutch kit to be delivered to my house and Jase from Sydney will be driving to my place to fit the new clutch!! This is what community working to help others should do. ❤️
I’m selling my poor car as is😢🥺 she’s done us so proud. Kept going until we moved into a house. Everything he touches gets fucked. So many emotions. I love this car. Simply can’t afford to fix the clutch on it. Cost of living is killing me.

Housing just called me. They said my application for priority housing was closed by that patronising bitch that told me to go back to where I came from 😑 but seeing they received my doctors letter about my health conditions, they have since “reopened” it. I gave them my report😑

Spoke to my 12 year old daughter and asked her why she keeps staying in the tent and not out looking for a friend. “What’s the point of making new friends when I’ll only see them once and not hear from them again?” She says. Homelessness affects children’s mental health 😢

We rented the same house for 7 years then the owner decided she wanted to move in and retire, then it was apparently selling. But now it’s been turned into an Airbnb 😑 after renovating the place. Gave us bad reference to other realtors because I dared to challenge her.
Being a renter is eye wateringly expensive. This is the kind of shit that professional poverty advocates don't have a clue about when they decide we're asking for too much.

Tax every landlord who leaves their properties vacant for more than 6 weeks. Evidence of “renovation” including tax invoices should be used as proof that it’s uninhabitable. Cap rental applications to the first 10 applicants who are applying for private rentals through realtors.
