@theEndurancePT In UK there is always this narrative. It is very very difficult to get these injections. The window you speak of is crucial. But chronic pain sufferers need a break from the pain - there is no real 'rehab' for chronic conditions. The window allows better life - eating- moving

@tempophysio I dont 'rant' as you put it and of course I have asked. It is exasperation with the never ending narrative of 'it just is this way ' versus claims like yours of underfunding.

@tempophysio Please stop claiming underfunding. The same dept in the same hospital in the same trust uses a digital system for bladder scans but a manual one for liver scans. Pt sits outside the same scanning room and sees same clinician. I know because I did it 2 weeks ago.

@tempophysio Yes and balance needs to be using a clearly efficient working digital solution across the board instead of dinosaur depts and clinics refusing to adapt and change because it doesn't suit their working day. And then claiming it is wasting taxpayers money !

@tempophysio Well if you define efficiency as just getting patients seen at convenience of clinician then yes. If you define efficiency as getting patients actually better and stay better then no !

@tempophysio It's not for me to easily change an appt. It is respecting patients, acknowledging they have commitments, responsibilities and co- morbities and arranging a mutually convenient time. It should not be just so NHS doesn't have to adapt to a changing landscape of patient needs!

@tempophysio Because you are not factoring in why people might cancel. What if someone with flu attends an appt. Passes flu to physio. Physio then off sick etc. etc. Passes to other pts ? An empty slot is not to be treated in isolation.

@tempophysio But outcomes may be better ! Surely a physio with an empty slot can use the time cost effectively ? However I was not really referring to physio but scans

@tempophysio But you don't need to ' fill' them. Efficiency isn't just about tick boxes of appts. It is about longterm outcomes e.g pt arriving with noravirus instead of cancelling.Perfectly possible to text pts or use numbers that don't allow incoming calls or just communicate effectively

@tempophysio actually a mutually booked appt time is going to be cost effective in the long run - empty slots not withstanding ! My experience is a scan slot. Bladder scan mutually booked - liver scan not. Same hospital, same dept, same room, same radiographer even. Just inefficiency-

@tempophysio It's a no brainer to contact pt. first and arrange an appt. Yes things might inevitability change- nature of beast. But to send an appt without discussion and allow no means of pt changing it is a recipe for a DNA. I can't contact them ??. One system works- other doesn’t !

@tempophysio The same trust ?? If a system works then use it across the board. Nothing to do with underfunding at all and everything to do with working in silos and refusing to learn and adapt. My DNA will be a wasted appt because I can't tell them I can't come and they did not use digital.
