Austin ISD wants to turn the former Rosedale School and the Anita Ferrales Coy Facility into housing that teachers and staff can afford. The proposals include apartment complexes, single-family homes, and townhomes.

One of the students who organized the walkout said abortion rights represent a larger issue.
“It really represents people having access to their own bodies and when we see laws that are taking that away, it doesn’t end with abortions.”
Kindergartners at Reilly Elementary decorated paper plates to go with their eclipse glasses. The principal at this campus says attendance is over 90% today.
The school’s interim principal praised students for taking action.
“It’s a school for young women leaders and we feel strongly about promoting these young women from 6th through 12th grade to find their voice.”
Public education advocates are rallying at the Texas Capitol this morning against school vouchers. The demonstration is happening before a third special legislative session starts Monday. Gov. Greg Abbott is calling on lawmakers to pass school voucher legislation.

The Austin Community College board of trustees voted tonight to approve a nearly $21 million compensation package in the next budget. Last year's compensation package was about $11 million.
It’s a packed house at the Lake Travis ISD school board meeting tonight. One of the items on the agenda is a challenge of two library books. The books are “The Haters” and “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”
All 3 of the props in Austin ISD's bond package are on track to pass, according to preliminary results. Prop A is the largest at $2.3 billion. It would be used to modernize 25 campus and make major repairs at schools across the district. So far, 73% of voters support it.

The Del Valle ISD Superintendent Annette Tielle says the district serves all students. More than half of the student body is emergent bilingual and 90% are economically disadvantaged. Other superintendents have been pointing out that private schools get to decide who to admit.
A spokesperson for the Travis County Sheriff’s Office says a total of 57 protesters were booked into jail after being arrested on the UT campus Wednesday.

They want a $12 per hour raise for classified employees and to increase base pay for all certified employees by 12%.
