I grew up just north of Chino California and spent every spare minute at the early days of Ed Maloney's Planes of Fame doing all sorts of odd jobs and mechanics and learning to fly. I've never outgrown my aviation fixation.

@RayLRiv1 @UPSAirlines No, I'm a retired college teacher and this is just a pastime for me. Good luck with your certification!

While other pieces were found across a wide swath of Wisconsin, this is the only one of which the exact point of impact has been preserved. A small plaque in the sidewalk near the brass ring in the street commemorates this unusual event in the early years of the Space Race. 9/9

Sad to think this historic aircraft could easily have been preserved. The Plane Tags web site says they “salvaged portions of it”, so this skeleton looks like all that is left behind. 4/4

A couple weeks ago during the height of the devastating L.A. Palisades fire, a drone collided with a Canadair "Super Scooper" fire bomber aircraft. Well, the culprit was found, and he was, as predicted, nervous.

Here's Jean Lesage Int’l Airport in Quebec, Canada, home of a fleet of Canadair CL-415 “Super Scoopers”. Two were at the horrendous Palisades fire in Los Angeles last week and 1 hit an illegal drone. The Drone’s remains have been found and today someone is very, very nervous. 1/4

@geet842000 I believe that's an A-7, not a Crusader.

Another concrete-encrusted warbird at a children’s park in Southern California. This Grumman F9F-4 Panther was a Korean War veteran. Lions Park, Costa Mesa, California. 1/4 #planespotting #avgeek #aviationdaily #aircraft #aviationlovers #aviation #milair

As they decompose and city budgets tighten, they'll be scrapped. See this article about thousands of Civil War cannons used as monuments. They ran a similar course to what today’s aircraft in parks will face. Hope it doesn’t happen to this Crusader. 5/5
