X-Men '97 is one of rare adaptions where Jean isn't reduced to some sort of plot device and a source of conflict for other characters (i.e. the love triangle) and y'all complaining that she isn't ending fights in 1.5 seconds or that her feats aren't big enough?
It kinda sucks how the finale of Weapon X-Men was overshadowed by 2 other finales since it's such a hidden gem. The concept of a Jean/Magneto Onslaught hunting down Phoenix intrigued me. Old Phoenix and Old Man Logan finally finding peace and moving forward was sweet.

Jean calling Phoenix "you" and the Phoenix immediately after calling her "mother-me" to remind her who she REALLY is. Line so good I made it my bio

Famke Janssen says she is not returning as Jean Grey in 'DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE'.
“I’m not in [Deadpool & Wolverine]. No. Everybody keeps asking. So, at some point, I was like, ‘Wait, am I in Deadpool, and I just don’t know it yet?’ But, no. I’m not. No, no.”

Daughter returning to the place she came from is so bittersweet. Her origin story was amazing and this issue really tied loose ends but i teared up a bit seeing her go. Hope Grey, YOU ARE LOVED.

Except Jean's most famous story revolves around her as the main character and ends in her sacrificing herself. Y'all want X-Men to fall in the same misogynistic trope as Spiderman stories when Emma and Jean are just fine without Scott.
@RDMacQ
@TheSaneWhitaker
Hot take, Emma was cyclops Mary Jane and Jean was his Gwen. Emma’s a far more deep and interesting character with a lot of personality, and like Gwen Jean grey’s most famous story is the one where she dies. And to be frank she should have stayed dead.
When dozens of female readers criticized Jonathan Hickman and Gerry Duggan for their misogynistic approach to the character of Jean Grey and comictwt's response was to harass them and call them insane...
We have to do better as men in the comic book community to not single out, harass and belittle women in the community.
It’s been long-standing in nerd culture where men will make women feel either unsafe or unwelcome
LISTEN to the women in our community.
@cleaswitch
I think the fight isn't over and Beau stated that Jean was holding back, I think this scene is simply setting up something important for next episode
This is a throwaway plot point that the writers decided to randomly bring up again and Jean HAS called out Xavier for being abusive towards Scott. Let's pick up a comic book!
@unc4nny_X
Jean, to my knowledge, has never confronted Xavier with the bad things he's done. Mostly because she was dead for years, but she heard this man was in love with her when she was a teenager and still looked up to him. While Scott knew this guy was on some bullshit
Like their relationship was one of the highlights of the whole run for me. Kitty comforted her, helped her learn to control her powers, wouldn't let anyone hurt her. Like she was more than a mentor, she was a big sis to Jean.
This scene actually reminded me of this panel in the Dark Phoenix Saga where Jean strips away Mastermind's powers (both his actual powers and the power he had over her) and reveals their true hideous form hiding under a powerful façade.

Corsair and Jean having father/daughter-in-law bonding time in space? I'm up! I don't remember them having major interactions together since the Phoenix Saga.

Statements like this are why ppl joke that Warbz dont read comics. Phoenix came from the void, between states of being and before creation. It is the spark that gave way to creation in the first place. So no, it wasn't "birthed" from chaos magic because it predates its existence.
Y'all were in the quotes defending him from righteous criticism of misogynistic jokes but now the same people are on the TL every week lashing him as if he robbed your house while he slept. What happened?
The harassment female fans of the character received back in 2020 and 2021 was astronomical, all because they criticized a writer with a large male following who uplifted a beloved brand, yet still character assassinated and sidelined multiple major female characters
There are two other fandoms being massive assholes to Ororo rn but ya'll are a bunch of cowards too afraid to whack them so you gotta make it about jean fans somehow
Dont know why the jarbz and warbz are acting up about storm being a goddess. Mind you y'alls faves are omnipotent almighty god incarnate each. Yet y'all are pressed a self-made black woman from the streets is doing the best she can with what her mama gave her? Jesus be a fence 🥴
@funkybuglady
It's a joke, obvi Cable was the father figure in her life but since Jean ended up being the one who created her is why people are playfully calling her a Grey. It's kinda weird how you call Nathan her dad since her raised and adopted her but you dismiss Jean as his adoptive mom.
Thinking about what
@StarrChildOmega
on a twitter space about Hope being set up to be Jean reincarnated in the beginning and her being sent to the future to be raised by Cable was probably intentionally symbolic by writers because Jean also went to the future to raise him so now-
A lot of misconceptions are floating around but what's happening here is that the souls of mutants across the multiverse becoming the talons of the Phoenix and used by Jean to crush Enigma
#xspoilers
Jean harnesses the power of every mutant across every universe and the fact no other Jean's present in the collage just further cements that Jean/Phoenix exists simultaneously across all realities.

Jean Grey and Betsy Braddock are not as moving as y’all keep trying to convince us they are. Yes Jean is powerful but powerful does not mean interesting. That spicy space chicken does 90% of the lifting in what interest she does have
@sorakingdoms_
You absolute manchild, Jean stans did not harrass the writer of Phoenix Resurrection for breaking Jean and Phoenix. Jean has had a bigger power reduction than Wanda and yet Jean stans have nothing but praise over her latest writing. You should be grateful your fave even has a run
