We’re remembering ‘Ted’, Edward Kelsey, who died peacefully yesterday. Ted played Joe Grundy for 34 years and was a much-loved and respected member of our Ambridge family.
To mark June Spencer's 100th birthday this Friday, family, friends, cast and crew surprised her with warm wishes (and cake!) in our studio this afternoon. June has played Peggy Woolley for over sixty years. Happy Birthday June!
Today we remember our friend and colleague Graham Blockey following the sad news of his death. Editor Jeremy Howe says "Graham's Robert Snell was a brilliant creation and a delicious one off. Graham was a complete joy to work with, and we will miss him very much."

A powerful ending to this week's Omnibus thanks to Jim Lloyd 🙌
#TheArchers
Here's a reminder of Jim's painful past which fuelled his take down of Philip:
Still can't quite believe my radio grandfather, Edward Kelsey, has passed. I was privileged to have worked alongside Ted on
@BBCthearchers
for nearly 20 years. He was an incredible actor, a generous mentor and a wonderful person. I will miss him terribly. 😥
A massive thank you to
@BBCRadio4
and
@BBCTheArchers
for raising awareness about modern slavery.
Hope for Justice has been working alongside producers to assist with the storyline. This issue is especially important now, when traffickers will be exploiting the most vulnerable.
A big wave to your mum from all of us in Ambridge
@jackwhitehall
. Sorry for the childhood trauma. We’ll be in touch should any future scripts call for a nauseous celebrity to open the village fete
