Adam’s pathology came back and there were melanoma tumors in 7 additional lymph nodes so doing the full neck dissection was absolutely the right call 🙏! They saw a 60% response to treatment in the cells in those nodes and full response in the original two nodes identified in September so they were very pleased with that. Praise God!! Adam will likely finish out the combo protocol for the next year, we will find out more in January when we return for post op. Of course I wish it was a 100% response and that it hadn’t spread to any more nodes but this is such good news that we finally found a treatment that is working for him!!! We also discussed the continuing brain fog and they said it’s an unusual but not unexpected side effect of being under anesthesia for so long. They expect it will improve over the next week. He is scheduled to get his next brain MRI on January 7th but if the brain fog worsens or doesn’t clear up they can move that MRI up sooner but are not worried about that at this time so that’s good news also and we will continue to pray that the brain fog improves every day. He’s got some issues going on with his incision if you can please pray that it will please heal up properly and not separate open again like last time which was such a nightmare. 6:00pm Surgeon just came by, He said it was a difficult surgery due to all the scar tissue but the magnet seeds helped him a lot to find where everything was really deep. He was able to spare most of the nerves and doesn’t have any neuro damage. “Couldn’t have gone better!” So glad! 🙏🙌 Praise God! Will be 7-10 days for the pathology to come back, praying all the cancer is dead! Adam is having some nausea but his pain is being controlled pretty well so far. The incision is pulled pretty tight so he’s probably going to be very sore tomorrow. Thanks everyone for all the support and love today! The prayers gave us so much peace! 🙌🖤 🎗️🙏💛
