@oneteachervoice Please realize that “the province” is a very small number of individuals who set policy mostly based on what “others” are doing rather than on learning research. Go with your heart—it is connected to your brain. There are many ways to assess learning and human growth.

@EllenBees It’s more of a concept than a defined process. We recognize that too man curriculum documents are very outdated. To implement a renewal process would require a much larger curriculum department. Unless we just get AI to write documents. 🤣

@EllenBees There are a small number of consultants developing curriculum while following the shifting directives of leadership. It seems a small number of people drive the direction of curriculum. What drives their decisions? Ideology? Politics? Educational research? Following others?

@EllenBees I argued this point when I was in the department. Western and Indigenous perspectives differ. How do we include a broader variety of ways of knowing and being?

@EllenBees While consultants favoured continuing with practices in ELA, and expanding to other subjects. Executive level picked outcomes as the focus. Given the advances in AI, I personally see this as an even bigger misdirection.
