There’s no problem in demonstrating against a government but you can’t always do it claiming your “victory was stolen from you.”Raila has never accepted defeat and except 2002, he has always gone to court challenging the election of his opponents including the current President William Ruto—who was declared duly elected by the Supreme Court judges in August 2022. Surprisingly, he’s now being fronted by the administration he has been fiercely fighting against because they want to send him farther away so that his demonstrations and daily, weekly, and monthly protests are over. Otherwise there are very many Kenyan men and women with great minds, intellect, and experience to lead to vie for the position of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission.

Some people who are opposing President William Ruto’s directive of scrapping enhanced vetting for Somalis in Kenya seeking national ID cards and passports are worried that Somalis may take the governor and Senator of Nairobi and other key counties across Kenya. Somalis are Kenyans like any other tribe. They don’t need your help or so to take their rightful place in the country they belong. Stop whining.

I remember a friend of mine once telling me how he called his professor by his name instead of addressing him by the title “Dr. Professor So” and then the professor did not respond. He later told the student that “if you call me Mr. or just Professor”, he says “you are not calling me, you’re actually talking to someone else.” So now by not calling leaders and others by their appropriate titles, one is offending them.

Despite this and many similar meetings on the conflict in Eastern DRC, unfortunately, none of these measures will be implemented because some of the countries involved in this deep and protracted conflict are unwilling to stop arming and using proxies in Eastern DRC to achieve their interests politically and militarily. Calling for tougher, blunt, and clear warnings to the saboteurs of peace in DRC was needed.

This is nothing short of a confession. When asked if Rwanda had any troops as of February 3, 2025, President Kagame responded, “I don’t know .” Again when Larry Madow pushed him further and asked if any smuggled minerals are brought and exported from Rwanda, the President also responded, “I don’t know.”

Trump’s FBI director nominee Kash Patel had a very rough time defending his past actions, expressions both written and otherwise. The Hearing Committee used remarks from Trump staffers and appointees about how he’s incompetent, unqualified, inept, and inexperienced to be confirmed as the director of the FBI. Most of the Trump’s nominees had similar experiences in their confirmation hearings. Some of them are being nominated because Trump knows he can use them to subvert, degenerate, and violate the United States constitution and other laws thereof. For example, the DOJ nominee Pam Bondi was another disaster—she won’t say if Trump lost the 2020 elections and also makes herself unaware of Trump’s call to the Georgia secretary of state asking for 11,000 votes to be declared winner of that state. The most ludicrous nominees of modern times!

What proof do you have for yours? It’s been a public knowledge for sometime now that M23 rebels are a combination of Congolese and Rwandan rebel fighters fighting dirty war on behalf of Kigali. Every report in the region suggests that. You can’t hide that fact. It’s in Rwanda’s best interest for peace and security in its neighbours and living with them peacefully and respectfully.

@WilliamsRuto Until you press the wound hard so that lots of pus comes out, solution will not be found in the conflict in Eastern DRC and DRC in general. The fact that the forces destabilizing DRC are in attendance makes peace elusive in the region.

A Rwandan government spokesperson didn’t rule out the presence of Rwandan defence forces in the DRC, saying that they are in there for “defensive and offensive” purposes .

What Ruto is not saying is that a country can recruit, organize and maintain proxy forces from within the another to advance its interests in that country. The fact that M23 rebels are Congolese will not absolve the government of Rwanda and President Kagame from culpability and responsibility for the mayhem and perpetual insecurity and rebellion in the Eastern region of the DRC. It’s not a secret that both Uganda and Rwanda are bankrolling and arming rebel forces to overthrow the legitimate government of Congo, despite the latter’s incompetence and inability to bring change.

@ahmednasirlaw Despite their incompetence, I think that’s not giving Rwanda and Uganda the right to interfere with the internal affairs of DRC and the same is for Kenya and Ethiopia interfering with Somalia’s internal affairs.

@ahmednasirlaw I watched the entire clip earlier and I must say it was excruciating to watch it as the president lacked words to explain this whole saga and incompetence and self defeating interview. This is the case with most African leaders.
