Whilst I appreciate shining light on the limits of speech would be an ideal way to wake people up to the limits of their freedoms, I can’t help but agree with you that once defined people will start asking for more codified “protection”. The Brits have lost any sense of what free speech is.

I won’t roast you but I disagree. In extreme cases such as this where the crime is as heinous as it is, beyond any doubt who the perpetrator is and with an effective life sentence handed out I think there are grounds to do the World, and the public purse, a favour and rid ourselves of someone who is beyond, or deserving of, rehabilitation. The state does not need to be “above” such acts in these circumstances.
