ok it's really obv that he's Chris, but the thing is Chris never showed up in the first book. This might be the case where they introduce characters that have major impact later on, as minor character in earlier seasons.

yes, it's a random girl he was friends with on Facebook. i think her name was Michelle. It's purposefully not shown to us her char because the point was that anyone, even strangers on the internet would have given him a better, more realistic and genuine connection than Gracie

I don't think a character belongs to the public just because it's public. The character represent the author's view and their experience through the lens of said character and ultimately, how that character acts, talks and behaves all boils down to how the author's percieve them.
