Stopping the flow when the US is willing to pay the higher price for the energy is very different then the US not willing to pay and you turn it off. Do you not see the difference? If you choose to turn off the energy even when the US paying, then you’re just out to hurt people. It’s not about economics anymore. Like I said if the US stopped paying, you have all the right to turn of the energy, that is not the case here. I know these are threats and will probably not follow through, but you do understand the difference do you not? What Trump is saying is that the US doesn’t need energy from Canada once the infrastructure is built out in the US, they have all the natural resources to be completely self sufficient. This is lot a lie, just not in place yet. The tariffs will drive energy investments in the US and get this infrastructure up much faster. The threat from Canada to turn off the electricity will only hasten the build out. As long as it’s just a threat this will help the buildout. But if it really gets turned off even when the US pays the higher prices, then it will be an act of war because Canada will explicitly trying to hurt/kill American citizens.
