@Doofgradstudent I'd also be interested if there are some results on this. I have a compiled dataset where the threshold varies between studies and I was planning on using threshold as a predictor in the detection model.

@Doofgradstudent I was trying to get away with neg.binom so far but this looks cool. Is it like an underlying occupancy model, which separates out occurrence and abundance? And the GLM part for lambda is then only informed by truly occurring species?
