It seems like Fernando Alonso is one of the only all time greats who didn’t start playing bumper cars when he raced for titles.
Even in a year as heated as 2007, Alonso never hit Hamilton in a close title fight when he had opportunities to. Respect.

The Gen 7 is not looking good man…
Short track racing seems irreparably broken, road racing is a little worse, intermediate tracks are hit or miss, any track without multiple grooves isn’t good anymore, almost none of the changes were an upgrade over the Gen 6….
Depressing Denny Hamlin interview there, but it absolutely matches up with what we just watched. Sigh.

As much of a circus as this race was, this racing between Chastain and Reddick was amazing. First the pass by Chastain and then Reddick worked for several corners to try and set up a pass cleanly when he could’ve just punted him.

This dude has tried to race as clean as he can for wins after 2017 Martinsville, yet gets rewarded for it by being run over time and time again, regardless of intent.
I don’t blame him for being fed up. Newer drivers just have less respect.
Denny Hamlin said when he pays back Ross Chastain, it will be meaningful and when he least expects it, that you have to “fence these guys hard” to get their attention.

The more I’ve researched motorsports, the more I realize IndyCar’s 2011 Vegas race was an impending disaster. I was 9 at the time, I didn’t understand the dangers.

Question: For longtime fans frustrated with NASCAR’s direction, how much longer will you try to watch all 36 races every year?
I feel like I’m inside of 5 years away from only watching races of my choice at the rate this sport is headed. I’ll never absolutely quit though.
