I started my show NW Fresh so that a place in media exists for unfettered conversations that welcome moderate voices. As someone who spent 10 years in Portland news I can say 99% of news orgs are overwhelmingly progressive/far-left in their staff and editorial output. We have the monolithic progressive angle more than sufficiently covered to the point of it smothering opinions and it's not reflective of the voices in the PNW. Portland loves to talk about inclusiveness but it's one of the least inclusive places for anyone straying from a rigid religion-like ideology. I've lived here for 20 years and the close-mindedness was a main driver to me wanting to create the show. There are some great other people in the Northwest doing the same including @rationalinpdx @BrandiKruse @choeshow shoutout to them and I'll talk more about this in my upcoming media landscape panel episode. Thanks for watching 50 episodes I will keep recording ðŸ¤

The CFPB rollback is long overdue. During Chopra's term the bureau illegally expanded the scope of its oversight far beyond consumer protection to become an outright anti-business rogue agency with no set budget that expanded endlessly (Chopra was hiring hundreds more positions before learning the election wouldn't go in his favor). The Elizabeth Warren-created bureau would spend millions to find a single-case of even legally-borderline violation (some where CFPB lost in court) and magnify that single case to paint a wholly inaccurate picture of industry in the US. And it would do this while simultaneously bullying businesses out of operation, while also driving up unrealistic regulatory costs for businesses. Meanwhile the CFPB itself can have a major data breach in 2023 and pay zero consequences like the ones it threatens on businesses. If you're still taking the position that CFPB is focused on doing great things for consumers, you haven't been paying attention the past 4 years, to your local business community, to the working class, and to the economy.
Musk and his Musk rats are scheming with Russ Vought to gut the agency that protects the money in YOUR wallet from the scammers. It's another Trump attack on families. Totally wrong.

Talking about bringing common sense livability to Portland with @CiattaForPDX who has convinced me on Superbowl Sunday to go with the birds #eagles and against the NFL/Swifty narrative 🤠#nwfresh

It definitely seems like @multco and @jvegapederson are directly violating the terms of the ADA settlement with City of Portland. I see this in East Portland as well, will Portland and Multnomah County ever respect federal ADA law?
Dear @Hasbro, if you want to ensure your PDX Monopoly game is accurate you need to add tents, a card that says BAD Luck a homelss neighbot has moved in and then people have to pay to get them removed. That would be accurate. @rationalinpdx @future_portland @azcfilm @PortlandGov

This is definitely needed at PSU. I talked with PSU professor @weingradmichael on my podcast when the library takeover was happening. And my episode with @MrAndyNgo was recorded at the same time & we discussed: Professor: Andy Ngo:
