【怪異（カイイ）】とは、憑き物（ツキモノ）や化物（バケモノ）などの不可思議な存在のこと。
憑き物は人に憑依した動物霊。憑かれた人は理性を失い異常行動をとると伝えられている。
化物は本来の姿を人に変えたモノで、妖怪とも呼ばれている。

殆どが身体を支配され、理性を失い、人が違ったようになる。
しかし、かつては憑き物を操る「憑き物筋」と言われる家系や、神のお告げを受けるため自ら憑かれる巫女などが存在した。

Kaii refers to mysterious creatures such as Tsukimono and Bakemono.
Tsukimono are animal spirits that possess people, making them lose their rationality and behave abnormally.
Bakemono, also known as Yokai, can change its original form into a human.
