@vivekt17 They are Indian citizens (adult or child) stuck in a war zone or mass deported from a foreign land, it is Indian government's duty to help them and support their safe return to their country. My reference is about use of the term bacche for adults by non-parents.

@ajaydiv बच्चा is indeed a Persian loanword in Hindi. It is very closely related to Sanskrit वत्स (boy) which gave rise to Prakrit baccha बच्छ (boy) > बछड़ा (calf). In that sense, बच्चा can be considered a tadbhava of vats.
