1/ We are thrilled to announce the launch of NeurosurGen Inc. at the Society of Neurological Surgeons @SNS_Neurosurg annual meeting in Dallas. Our mission is to compile and maintain comprehensive genealogical data on every neurosurgeon in the US (and eventually, worldwide). NeurosurGen Inc. aims to provide historical and contemporary data on every neurosurgeon, memorializing the field’s rich history and fostering camaraderie among neurosurgeons. We chronicle a family tree for each neurosurgeon, and our website currently stores, displays, and edits academic ancestry data on over 6,500 neurosurgeons. @NREFORG @AANSNeuro @CNS_Update @SNS_Neurosurg

Our recent findings reveal a complex relationship between recreational drug use and AVM outcomes. Tobacco and cannabis may reduce rupture risk and in-hospital complications, but caution is essential, given the known cerebrovascular risks of these substances. @AlexandraPaulMD @AMCNeurosurgery
🚨 How does the use of recreational drugs affect ruptured AVMs? This large database observational study shows that stimulant use increases the likelihood of presenting with ruptured AVMs. In contrast, tobacco🚬 and cannabis 🍃 use reduces the possibility of extended hospital stays and complications. *This is NOT an endorsement for tobacco or cannabis use.*
