In Chinese art, the depiction of a man boating toward a riverbank is traditionally associated w/ the subject of reclusion from urban life. During difficult times, the educated elite would retreat to the mountains as a means to purify their spirit.
Thrilled to share that Chanel Miller's mural, "I was, I am, I will be," will be the inaugural work in the Wilbur Gallery! This tripartite mural encourages us to think of life as an endless state of becoming. Now visible from Hyde Street! 👀
