I think the story of how I met my boyfriend is worth sharing, so here goes haha. I met him in Thailand at a bar, while I was solo traveling. He happened to have graduated college in my hometown, San Diego. I asked if he wanted to join me on my scooter ride 4 hours from the
If you’re in social consumer: here’s an example of an organic reel that got 3.2M views. Three important factors
1. Engaging clip
2. Catch phrase
3. Trendy audio & short vid
Now that I have investment, I realize just how important it was to go through the process without it to begin with, & to be on a budget. It forced me to only do what was absolutely necessary, and to work really hard. Investment or not, I will always stay frugal & focused on
@adventuwe
Its investing in my business while I’m young and I still can:) people spend 60k-200k+ on college, why wouldn’t I spend way less to start something that I I’m really passionate about & truly believe will succeed? Money comes back, time doesn’t.
I’m 22. I can’t say I’ve learned even a quarter of the knowledge I’ll learn by the end of my life. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned that’s made the biggest impact, it’s been learning emotional maturity. Staying calm and thinking about the long term when anything adversary
Some of the hardest things I’ve been through so far as a first time founder:
- someone copying me in the biggest & smallest ways, from little things I do on my stories, to app features, to exact designs, so word for word text in captions, bios, and while promoting.
- dealing
I’m 22 and I never go out, never drink, and only hangout with my boyfriend, his family, my family, & sometimes my childhood best friend who happens to live in the same city as me again. I love my quiet life. I love going to the beach alone and going to get my poke bowls alone. I
Stop worrying about profitability in an app, if you have a lot of users, you’ll make money. You just will. So focus on adoption & a great platform. Revenue shouldn’t be the forefront priority to begin with for an app that you want to attract users to!
Tools I use for managing my app startup:
Upwork: hiring & paying developers
Figma: all app designs / UI / wireframing
Trello: for managing the developers
CapCut: editing my social media marketing videos
Slack: communication with everyone in team
Firebase: tracking my metrics /
I’m meeting up with one of my angel investors in 10 mins. Nervous because I’m half their age and sometimes I get imposter syndrome. Like, you’re investing in MY company? Anyway haha it’ll be great. We’re getting brunch! 🍳 brunch on a rainy day is always a cool vibe 😌
Me in 2020, living in France with free healthcare, living my best life hehe
I was 18, It was senior year of high school & Covid just hit, I decided to become an “au pair” (nanny abroad) but the visas for au pairing were closed, cause of Covid. ONLY student visas were allowed, so
One of my users: “I recently went on my first ever solo trip to Barcelona and thanks to Going Solo I wasn’t alone for any of it I met up with the 3 most amazing girls and spent majority of my trip with them!! This pictures are from our first night together and as you can see it
When it comes to my app, I will work overtime, spend hours going back & fourth with the team, work on the weekend, edit & post 6 videos a day. When it comes to refilling my car tires when they’re low on air, forget it. Meal prep? Never. Paying a toll road fee from 5 months ago?
The formula I’ve seen work to market my social consumer app on social media:
Before the beat drop: “So you wanna____”
Second part: show the app or write “welcome to our app” or “we made an app for that”
When my competitor first blatantly copied me, I tried to blast social media and post about it, tried to get people to “see” how shit*y it was. I now realize it only makes you look dumb. Makes you look defeated. Never make that mistake! Just keep building, keep being creative 🫶🏼
One of my users: “So the first video is from literally two days after I downloaded the app I met a group of travelers and we went on a river cruise and then had a picnic for dinner in front of the tower. Literally I don’t know what I would’ve done without your genius idea. It’s
The universe works in magic ways if you let it. Before I started my app I posted a random (stupid) instagram story asking “does anyone know how to make an app” ahaha..somehow, a guy swiped up and offered completely free help & knowledge. He taught me how to outsource talent,
as a non technical app founder, I’m proud to say I now know what deploy, migrate, CICD pipeline, API integration, IAM user, server-less, data query, repository, API call, and more means🤣
I’ve been working so hard on like 8 new features for my app for the past few months, and we finally got a test build out for the first time with basically all of it done. This feeling makes me think, “this is why I’m an app founder, this is why I keep going.” Literally the best
Hey tech fam, as a first time founder who just got her first big investment deal, what’s one piece of advice you would give me to successfully go about the next year with the funds & in a relationship with my investors (I don’t mean what to exactly use the money on, but if
Having investors is like amplifying the manifesting & good vibes to be successful. They want it just as bad as you haha. (A spiritual take, scroll if u don’t believe in juju🪄)
Founders, take this as a lesson to never let your devs become toxic and overpowering, about before it’s too late. This INSANE past dev posted complete lies about me, so here’s a little drama to spice up your Friday morning😂
When my app broke due to a memory limit a few months back, and every user got logged out of their account, I quite literally thought my life was over 😂 I love being a startup founder
My startup has literally become my child. When it’s broken, I’m broken. When it needs me, I’m there. I’m always thinking about it, trying to make it better. When it’s thriving, I’m proud, like a mother would be. In other words, I’ve gone insane, and I don’t think there’s a cure
Me & my boyfriend are buying a catamaran sailboat before a house, here why:
⛵️Financial freedom: it’s only around 100k for a nice livable sailboat. We’ll have a low monthly boat payment, and the rent for a dock spot is only $400 a month!
⛵️Lifestyle freedom: Once we get good at
As a solo non tech founder, outsourcing my development to freelancers has be tough and risky, but I will still always vouch for it instead of using an agency. Because I have more control over everything that’s happening and all my important access points, I’m always “in the
It’s funny how we have so much time, so many hours in a day, and since 90% of us work half that time, it doesn’t feel like much. But what would you do if you didn’t work? Work gives us that excitement for free time, makes weekends feel better, makes vacations more inviting. It
My days as a startup founder be like:
7:00am - WORK MODE YES YES YES🤪🥳
9:30 - need to stop looking at screen, need to workout NOW🤕😵💫
10:00 - ok now let’s WORK🙌🏼💪🏼🤩
1:30 - Ok I need a break 😦
2:30pm - ENERGY ENERGY back to it 😝
4:00pm - slumped, body & mind on 0%🪫
UGH. When I send a notification and get a bunch of traffic to my app at once, it breaks, no one has been able to fix it for months, and I always just move on and don’t send notifs and everything is fine. Now that I have the budget, I’m gonna rlly invest on our architecture and
When I’m a rich billionaire and someone asks what my biggest advice is I’m literally gonna say being impulsive, cause that’s what’s gotten me pretty much everything great in life so far 🤣
Keep showing up. Show up for yourself, for your mind, your body, your soul. Show up on days when it feels like you’re just going through the motions. Show up even if it’s only 10%, even if it’s 1%, just show up, every day.
Consistency is annoying, boring, irritating, repetitive, and redundant…. but it’s the ONLY way to see results
I edit & post around 3 reels a day to promote my app. They’re usually somewhat the same, they rarely go viral, but when they do….😫🤌🏼📈✨
You know when you get a vibe from a person that’s just SLIGHTLY passive aggressive but in the most non obvious way, and just an intuition that they aren’t “actually” happy for you. lol. I guess that’s the meaning of “evil eye”🧿🪬🙈
The best feeling as a founder: a well oiled system where everyone in the team is happy & there is an organized plan
and a viral marketing video of course haha
There’s 300 users on my app in Beirut Lebanon, 100 in Lahore Pakistan, 217 in Hong Kong, 30 in Zanzibar Africa… there’s users in pretty much every city in the world, that’s the power of social media marketing!
I can’t decide if driving 30 mins to the beach every single day and staying until it’s almost dark out is an addiction, a form of therapy, or a lifestyle…
Tbh Ive had 98% good experiences with men. Im not saying there aren’t creeps or disregarding anyone’s experiences, but I’ve just had the best experience with humans and I’ve traveled solo to 10 different countries. Most men who approach me will just be genuinely nice then go
The universe gives me so much more good than bad. The bad tends to feel a lot stronger, but it’s most certainly smaller, and always fleeting. Meditating really puts everything into perspective, especially when you visualize what you’re grateful for. It’s usually family that comes
I swear I’m the CEO of impulsive & chaotic:
Started my bachelors degree in psychology in Italy on an Italian student visa then switched online cause I got bored, and went broke, so I finished the semester online from the US then transferred to a university in Paris on a French
