@jacobandjesus @americafirstNH Sola scriptura puts scripture as authority over tradition or any other claim. Thus 'sole authority'. No tradition or council or any other man made thing has the same authority as scripture. They are not equal. Lutheran reformers never opposed tradition per se.

Sola scriptura always meant "A claim that contradicts scripture is to be rejected". Catholics and Orthodox do adhere to the principle of sola scriptura.
