If you don't know enough about a subject to have a valid opinion, listen to someone that does and keep your mouth shut. Not a curmudgeon (and a bit of a fibber).
Arsene Wenger warned everyone in 2004, what would happen to the league when he coined the phrase "financial doping". People didn't listen and claimed it was "another excuse" for his failure to compete. As ever, history has proven him right.
Arsenal AGREED to pay Mesut Ozil £350k p.w. to play like Mesut Ozil, not N'Golo Kanté. If he doen't fit the system, that's not his fault.
You don't hire a plumber and ask him to cut your lawn.
Arsene Wenger, Dennis Bergkamp and Mesut Ozil are the 3 PL signings that changed the direction of Arsenal for the better, the most. And no amount of fuckwits rewriting history will airbrush their influence out
A reminder that it was Arsene Wenger that insisted and motivated the Invincibles not to lose after they had won the league. Yet another reason for his pedestal to be so high. Greatest PL manager ever.
2020 "Arsenal have do to everything to keep Aubameyang, they are nothing without him"
2022"Arsenal have to do everything to get rid of Aubameyang, he's holding them back"
And it's THE SAME PEOPLE saying both.
Mesut Ozil saw it before anyone else, as he always does. He offered to take a bigger pay cut if the club guaranteed the jobs of staff(allegedly), yet somehow he paid the price of his place and they fans bought the spin against him.
"Football reasons" my arse.
I've found the best bio on twitter
"It takes an exceptional club to win 4 FA Cups in 6 years and for that club to still be considered ‘under-performing’. But that is Arsene Wenger’s true legacy".
@ArsenalAndrew
Arsene Wenger won 2 doubles, 3 titles.and unbeaten season, 7 FA cups ,gave us the best football in history and basically stood guarantor for the bank loans an the stadium(by signing a 5 years deal) .
He has gone, but if you want to disrespect him, for any reason, you can fuck off
Arsenal v Real Madrid, arguably the biggest club in the world.
Look at our support, outnumbering RM by at least 3 to 1.
It’s up to Kroenke to make the most of our incredible world wide support and give us all a competitive team.
Arsene Wenger was Arsenal manager for 22 years for one simple reason-he was one of the best managers in the world. No amount of rewriting history can change that, no matter how fucking stupid you are.
Arsene has said he wouldn't sell Vieira, Cesc, Adi, Nasri, Theo, Sanchez, and many more. He sold them all, If you are stupid enough not to understand its a negotiating tactic rather than "he lied" I can't help you.
Maybe, just maybe, it's time for Arsene to go, but it will NEVER be the time for him to be forced out, disrespected or treated as anything other than our greatest ever manager.
Arsenal agreed to pay Mesut Ozil £350k pw to play like Mesut fucking Ozil, not close down and tackle like Kante., or play like anyone else. TO PLAY LIKE OZIL.
The very moment Arteta said Ozil wasn't playing for "football reasons", was the moment I knew we had backed a Donkey. There was never going to be any way back from that nonsense.
Arsene Wenger did not:-
Facilitate Stan buying 100% of AFC
Appoint Raul
Appoint Edu
Release Ramsey, Santi and Jack for free.
Appoint Emery
Buy Papa and Luiz
Loan Suarez and Ceballos
Spend £200m+ on making the squad worse.
Marginalise Ozil
THIS MESS IS NOT ON ARSENE
I want Arteta to be a huge success with Arsenal, I want the team under him to improve and play good football. I don't want him sacked. But ffs, don't tell me he's been a huge success or that we have played good football up until now. THAT'S THE PROBLEM.
Mikel Arteta is an elite coach, but Arsene Wenger is/was a football genius. It's possible to respect and admire both, but should be impossible not to respect and admire Wenger.
I can tolerate Arteta making mistakes, everyone does, but I can't tolerate his worshipers denying the mistakes and promoting him as some sort of genius that has worked wonders. I don't even want him sacked, I just want it accepted that he could have justifiably been sacked.
There isn't a manager in the world that would get top 4 for Arsenal now, let alone for 20 straight years, and 10 of them with the 18th biggest transfer spend.
But hey, you were told.
Ozil annoys people because he makes football appear effortless, they refuse to see the effort he has put in to become that good. They prefer someone like KDB, who has a red face and pants like a Labrador lying in the sun.
I have no idea how good Mesut Ozil currently is or how he's playing, but what I do know is that during his 7 and 1/2 years at Arsenal, he was comfortably our best player, from the first to the last minute, and miles better than any current players.
Ozil called out ex players for disloyalty, pundits for stupidity, now he has called out racism and xenophobia, the man has balls of steel.
Move over Andrey , I think I have a new favourite.
Next season Xhaka will play the same as he has this year and people will start saying he has improved, rather than admit they have been talking bollocks for 2 years.
We had Arsene for 22 years, the club fucked up his last 2 years.
We had Ozil for 7, fucked his last 2 also.
But no one can take away the memory of their majesty, we will always have that.
From 2004 Arsene knew we couldn't compete financially, yet he kept us top 4 with the 18th highest transfer spend and entertained us with some glorious football. Unbelievable on reflection. We could have been 15th 15 years ago, if he had left.
Ozil's problem is he makes the game look easy, if he did the same things ,but made it seem like hard work, he would be lauded by those that favour effort over skill.
When I say "those" I mean fuckwits.
Watford-Non-pen, off side goal
City-Non-pen, off side goal
Stoke . Goal ruled out supposedly offside 3 stonewall Pens denied.
It all evens out you say?
When? Might I ask?
AFTV is the worst thing to ever happen to AFC and given some of the truly awful blogs, podcasts and pundits we have had to suffer for years, that's quite a low.
"This could prove devastating for Arsenal fans who spent years trying to convince themselves and the world that the real problem at Arsenal was a charming Frenchman, who won two doubles, went a season unbeaten, and gave them some of the greatest memories of their lives."
Arsene Wenger was the most ambitious manager, he wanted to win, playing beautiful football and do it with the money the club generated. THAT is true ambition.
We are all Arsenal fans, many because of Bergkamp, Wenger, Henry and Ozil (and some others) Let's not pretend we all started supporting Arsenal because of the badge or the shirt. These men had an influence and it was bigger than yours.
5 things we learned last night
1. Ozil has to start
2. Ozil is a team player
3.Emery has to start Ozil
4. Ozil makes most fans happy
5. We play better with Ozil.
I could have done 10, or 20, or 50............
Mesut Ozil is the best player to be at Arsenal since Henry left. This should be an accepted fact, that it's not is a reflection of how little football fans actually understand football.
At around 9.50 pm last night ,Arsene Wenger walked across his room, opened up a cabinet, and started polishing a gold trophy, with his trademark smirk on his face.
What is clear, and we must now accept, is that AFTV is not for Arsenal fans (even if it originally was), it's for fans of other clubs to watch and laugh at our stupidity, that's why the most stupid fans are pushed front and centre.
Mesut Ozil was given a contract by Arsenal, he didn't forge it, steal it or force them to give it. Yet somehow it's his fault now? Fuck off with the nonsense logic.
Mesut was our best player for 7 years, we won 8 trophies, (Lol I'm counting Charity Shields, because The Knights of Arteta say he's won 2), you better believe I think he's Legend.
"All right, but apart from The Invincibles, the trophies, Stadium, CL qualification for 20 seasons to fund the stadium move despite having no transfer funds, 49 undefeated, Henry and all the other great players and beautiful football, what has Arsene Wenger ever done for us?"
Xhaka was excellent for 94 minutes yesterday, he misplaced one pass, then confirmation bias kicks in, our expert fans go on the warpath and are hot on his trail.
What a pathetic bunch of halfwits.
In 08 we were playing the best football I've ever seen, were 8 points clear and I was convinced we would win the league. We came 3rd. I'm excited now, but experience makes me fearful too.
When Arsene leaves we will all be celebrating, but for different reasons.
Some will celebrate him leaving, and the rest (the decent human beings) will be celebrating all he has done for us, AFC and football.
Wenger had Miki and Auba for a few months, Laca half fit for most of the season, Leno Papa, Mateo,Torreira and Stephan not at all.
THIS IS NOT WENGER'S TEAM.
Stop blaming Wenger you fucking Muppets.
So, let me get this right, Veiera , Arsene and Pep think Xhaka is a very good/intelligent/incredible player, but Fuckwit twitter thinks he's shit.
Who to believe?
For 10 years Mesut Ozil has been consistently the best playmaker in world football. To call him inconsistent is to fly in the face of facts. He is numerically the most consistent of the consistently good players.
Arsene Wenger preformed under par in 1 year of his 22 , and that was his last year when he was undermined by the executives, fans , press and pundits, and was even told he was leaving in the January, So exclude that year and it was never.
No he has not fractured his leg, he's had his leg fractured by a dangerous and uncontrolled tackle ,and act of violence that was allowed by an incompetent Ref and praised by halfwit pundits.
Do we think Xhaka has gone?
If so, that's awful. our best CM gone and no one anywhere near his level to step in.
We did this, us, the fans.
Shame on us all.
Anyone noticed how not one single journalist, blogger or podcaster had a clue Arsene was stepping down, and yet now they expect us to believe they know what has been happening for the last 4 weeks?
Lying bastards.
Apparently Mauricio Pochettino is set to be announced by Arsenal at 5pm.
Arteta at 6pm
Ancelotti at 7pm
Simeone at 8pm
and Allegri at 9pm.
Trust me, I know these things.
So we have gone from
"Another manager would win the league with this squad"
to
"It will be a huge achievement to get top 4 with this squad"
That's fucking odd if you ask me?
The PR that turned Aubameyang from club captain, supposedly irreplaceable and our best player with a happy infectious personality, into a lazy selfish leech that disrespected the club, should be taught at Eton and Oxford.
