Add to this that SpaceX’s ambition is to PRODUCE 3 starships. every. day. That is 450 metric tons of REUSABLE lift to orbit every day. Sure, it ambitious. But even if they fall waaay short, we’re talking a railroad to space.
We are at the precipice of a golden age of spaceflight. SpaceX alone launched 138 times in 2024. LEO has been inhabited by humans for 24 years straight. In 2019 only 12 people went to space, and in 2024 a total of 58 people went through private & public means alike. Momentum.

@packyM You’re comparing a 4 year period to 5 days. Jan 29th 2021, 7 days after Biden’s inauguration, the NASDAQ was down from $13,543 to $13,070, or 3.5%. The Trump 5 day period you show was down 1.56%. Not that either week matters in the least in the grand scheme.

@PresentWitness_ @paulg Quality of life is not solely predicted by your taxable income. By immigrating to the US they would also drive up their work demands, massively increase their costs (education, healthcare, housing), lose their social support network etc. If you make good money, why bother?

@PresentWitness_ @paulg Norwegian immigrant here. We do, but you’re not seeing as many of us bc base for emmigration is small (thus small absolute #s) and the imperative to emmigrate is lower (high quality of life without uprooting your life).
