Patches lies on the couch, sleeping comfortably curled up in a blanket. The front door opens, waking her up. She jumps off the couch and runs towards the door to greet whoever entered but all of a sudden her ears pick up yelling.

She slows her movement and finally makes it to the door.
She looks up at her human first then /his/ human. She meows, trying to distract the pair from their anger and stop the mean words spilling from their mouths.

Dream looks at her for a second then up at George before he mumbles something and picks Patches up. He begins to walk away with Patches in his arms.
She meows louder this time, feeling bad for George who's left alone in his hurt.

Patches walks into the hallway and upstairs towards George's room.
Dream sighs when he realises where they're headed, but when he hears the muffled cries coming from the other side of George's door he feels a lump in his throat.

She'll solve this, like always, this fight just seemed more serious. Dream carries her into his room and sits on his bed. Patches looks up at her human and meows pushing her head against Dream's chest.

Patches walks closer and pushes her head against George's legs, then Dream's then she meows again and looks up at them both.

Patches feels some sort of happiness when she sees the two hug and she meows in celebration. Her human looks down at her and slowly blinks, Patches repeats the action.

Patches slips inside the room and George's eyes turn to her. “Patches.” He calls.
Before Patches can meow as an answer Dream speaks, Patches hopes they won't start yelling again, that they will just lay down in George's bed and cuddle with her like they usually do.

It's silent, Dream's human wont answer. Patches walks back over to them and pushes George's calf with her head to move him forward.
George stumbles slightly and Dream's hands fly up to catch him, but he pulls them away once he sees George won't fall.

Tears start to fall from her owner's eyes, some dripping onto Patches' fur making her uncomfortable. She squirms under Dream's hold before jumping down off of the bed. Dream's frown deepens when she starts walking away.

Patches meows and looks up at her owner. Dream visibly swallows before speaking. Their voices are quiet Patches notices, feeling way more comfortable than earlier.
She wags her tail curiously, listening to the soft tone of the humans' voices.

Patches meows again scratching the door in her usual way of 'knocking', knowing George will open the door like he always does. Before Dream can even think of protesting there's a mess of a brunette infront of him.
Patches slips inside the room and George's eyes turn to her.

Patches stops in front of the slightly opened door and meows at her human, waiting for him to get the hint.
Her owner sits on his bed for a while longer before wiping his tears --though it doesn't really help as they keep falling-- and walking over to the cat.
