Just want to be very clear- my sister,
@ArtisticBlower
, SAVED me from Epstein and Maxwell. She is the one who asked me what happened, told me it was not my fault and that I never had to see them again, and reported them to the authorities. Attacks on her are so hurtful to me.
Feeling so incredibly grateful for all the support I’ve received since yesterday’s hearing. Thank you to all of those who have been vocal in demanding justice for survivors of sexual abuse!
Internet trolls blame people like my sister or mom for what happened so that they feel safer. Hindsight bias gives them an “I will judge you in order to convince myself that this couldn’t happen to me or my kid” mentality. Our long history of victim-blaming is built on this idea.
The
#Metoo
movement has been so powerful because the sheer volume of victims coming forward highlights the errors in this way of thinking. That is all- & thank you if you made it to the end of this early morning tweet rant!
Reading this I was overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude- for this juror who was brave enough to disclose his own trauma to help others understand the experience, for the other women who testified, & for my sister all the other survivors who spoke out and kept pushing for justice
WORLDWIDE EXCLUSIVE: I secured the first ever interview with a member of the jury in the
#GhislaineMaxwellTrial
. I’m so grateful to Scotty for talking to me about why the jury believed the women who testified, and about his own experience of sexual abuse.
Of course the vast majority of people understand this and are supportive of us both, but I felt the need to state this because of a small group of victim-blamers that spread the toxic idea that she is to blame for what happened to me. (Looking at you NY Academy of Art)
It is a dangerous idea because this “should have known” way of thinking is often central to what keeps people from recovering from trauma and stuck in cycles of self-blame. The more that it is echoed the more we absorb this message.
It has been heartbreaking to see my sister so sick, but we finally have some answers and a path for treatment. It means the world to me that
@VRSVirginia
&
@pinkPeptobismol
have put together this fundraiser to help. All support is so appreciated!
Grateful that Judge Freeman is not letting Maxwell's disappearance block this attempt to hold her accountable and grateful to all of the people out there offering their support! 🧡
Proud to be included in this important story that features an incredibly strong woman I've recently had the chance to get to know.

It makes me so frustrated that we live in a system that provides so few resources for people like this brave young man who are facing tremendous medical challenges. Please consider a donation. Every little bit helps! Love For Luke Post Op
My favourite ladies in the whole wide world!! Sigrid is the modern day Wonder Woman who stands up for victims and continues to support me throughout this pain staking ordeal of holding my predators accountable!! Love you Siggy!! ❤️🦋

I am so very sorry that happened to you. Doesn’t sound to me at all like getting off easy. The support of those we tell is so crucial in healing. Sending you all the best!
I am so grateful to John Prine for making my life better by sharing his music with us. I can think of very few things that made me smile until my face hurt the way that watching him dance around the stage did during his last show in Austin. RIP Mr. Prine.
The way I'd prefer to remember John Prine leaving us... dancing a jig to the sounds of "Lake Marie" at the

Texas is scheduled to execute CSA survivor Melissa Lucio on April 27 for a crime that never occurred. I’m joining

Not surprised that this woman would be friends with Maxwell. Doesn't seem like such a good idea however to be talking to reporters about how they are still in touch.
"How is it fair that the government and Epstein’s co-conspirators essentially get immunity by way of the government allowing Epstein to die in its custody?”
A very good question for AG Barr from the unstoppable Courtney Wild.

So fun! You deserve some serious pool chilling. It is sweltering in Austin, and I am really missing the city pool down the street that has been shut down this summer.
As a former health insurance exec, I don’t think any story better illustrates my old industry’s racket than the one I’m about to tell you: Right now, as we enter the worst public health crisis of our lifetimes (
#COVID19
), health insurers are still raking in record profits. (1/11)
I have recovered from Covid-19. We are humbled by the outpouring of love for me and John and our precious family. He is stabile. Please continue to send your amazing Love and prayers. Sing his songs. Stay home and wash hands. John loves you. I love you

I'm from Austin, TX and am horrified that my home state is planning to execute an innocent man in 3 weeks. I'm calling on
@GovAbbott
to stop
#RodneyReed
's execution.
.
@GovAbbott
needs to see that people from all over the U.S. & around the world support
#RodneyReed
. Let’s all send tweets to him. Here’s an example: “I’m from New Orleans and I’m calling on
@GovAbbott
to stop
#RodneyReed
’s execution.” Copy and insert your city, state, or country!

I believe there are some dedicated journalists in France working to keep the pressure on the authorities to hold him accountable for his crimes!
Alec Smith died trying to pay for a century-old drug that cost $6 to make and sold at $300.
This is not a policy debate. It is a fight against the incredible corporate power of the pharmaceutical industry that is literally killing our people.
In 2010, I had good union health insurance. Obamacare was the law of the land. In November that yr my 1yo son was struck by a careless driver in a crosswalk. After two surgeries and a night in intensive care, he died.

I’m interpreting this to mean we need to get him a big Thudershirt so he can handle the Super Tuesday coverage without having an accident.
BREAKING: Federal Judge decides to keep Jeffrey Epstein files under seal. The Miami Herald and

This is an easy way to let Governor Abbott know that you want justice for Rodney Reed. The louder the chorus, the harder it will be for the state to execute this innocent man.
@taunyad
Murder mystery and cheese- I can’t believe I’ve never considered two of my favorite things coming together this way. Maybe we can plan a facetime date to discuss? Over some manchega?
