Interesting times lie ahead when 🇧🇬 adopts the 💶. After years of deliberately ignoring (or opposing) that possibility, the BNB is now the guardian of prudent EU economic & monetary governance in a country facing an 8th round of Parliamentary elections in a little over 4 years.

My note: EU law remains 'blind' to FRA budget dynamics until deadline for action on EDP (+economic partnership programme via 2Pack) in April. Debt sustainability calculus remains entirely in the discretion of #ECB. Pray @ESM_Press and @EU_Commission don't issue conflicting DSAs.

@atanaspekanov Yep! The #ECB gave itself a lot of room for manoeuvre w/ the criteria, but it also sorted some 'red lines'. Eligibility ✅ if MS is `not being subject to an EDP ***or***not being assessed as having failed to take effective action in response to an EU Council rec under Art 126(7)`
