Minnesota, if we are going to claim to be a safe haven state for trans kids then we need to make it a safe haven. This needs to be considered a hate crime and should have never happened in the first place.
Family of 17 y.o. Cobalt Sovereign have shared this photo- Sovereign, a trans girl and HS Jr, suffered broken jaw, teeth and possible TBI after an incident PD is investigating as a “possible hate crime” at Hopkins High School on 5/30. Fam says she was called slur, attacked.
@wcco
This might be horrifically controversial. But idk why they're actually allowed to this it makes the lgbtq community look like a hypersexualised group of freaks
Self hating trans girls in the comments of that pic calling me a passoid have no idea I wrote a song called clocky girl summer about me and my clocky ass girl friends.
So something much scarier than I ever could have expected happened. Andrea, our bassist, passed out unexpectedly. We went to the ER and they told us it’s because they held their pee in too long lmao. It’s their bday 2morrow so if you want to help them with med bills
V: ambriak
I literally don’t pass though lmao. I look like this most of the time and get misgendered daily. But you know what? That doesn’t stop me from living my best life. If the only goal in your transition is to pass you will be always be unhappy. Transition to love yourself babe.
Without using misogyny, tell me why a bunch of men are able to play their sets without shirts on but as soon as I take my top off I get yelled at by the venue?
Oh hey this turned 1 years old the other day.
I think this is a pretty good album but the new album is 1000% better.
Looking back, marionette should have been a single, sliver is the most underrated track, and I should not have fucked with the devil a second time.

Hi twitter I haven’t been on here very much cause I’ve been touring and idk living in the real world I guess but I just wanted to say my life is very good rn and i am so happy
Maybe a hot take but I wish this happened less in the trans girl community.
I actually really hate that half the time when I ask a t girl if she wants to grab coffee she asks if she can kiss me. Like why can’t we just be friends who want to talk with no other motive?
3 weeks alcohol free today :) I don’t think I’ve gone this long without a drink since I was a teenager. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out with advice and support. Love y’all <3
Do people not realize how infantilizing of trans men this? Like all the trans men I know in the twin cities scene make some of the loudest, heaviest guitar based music all while fighting this stupid idea that trans men have to make “smol soft music”
why is transmasc music like: *ukulele* Don't mess with me, I'm a big boy now, and I'm very scary
and transfemme music like: *synthesizer* you should drive drunk you should drive drunk you should drunk drive(distorted voice filter)
Sure, when Seth MacFarlane pretends to be a dog who has sex with humans he gets 22 seasons but when I do it I get called a degenerate.
This world is so unfair.
i kinda wanna re-release all the old anita stuff with my natural voice instead of the pitched up one :/
i let the dysphoria win back then but shit just sounds better with my clocky ass voice.
Touring has made shitting in the most horrific bathrooms so normal. I saw a big rat run across the floor at a house show the other night and I just sighed and unbuttoned my jeans.
@JayMackComedian
Yeah, I think there's a special place in hell for a band with such a terrible name as Anita Velveeta.
I mean I know the best ones are taken already, but come on.
Too strong to have a breakdown
But fr life is v stressful rn. Im gonna get through it but I think after this tour im gonna take a pretty lengthy show and social media break until the album is ready to be released. 120 shows in a year is too much for me rn.

My booking hot take is that I think we should encourage newer/younger bands to overplay their hometown. Learning to be a good performer takes practice and you aren’t gonna learn how to do that with 6 week radius clauses and no touring options.
There is no mosh style that’s inherently dumb. It’s all relevant to context. Spin kicks at the indie/emo show might be a bit much and a push pit at a deathcore show might be lame. It’s all about context. Except that move when people lock arms and spin in a circle. That shit sux.
Love when a festival is called like “grrrlfest” or some shit and it’s filled with to the brim with they/them afab artists and zero trans women. Like dude this is offensive to both of us why are you playing this?
I love playing shows with emo bands
I love playing shows with metal bands
I love playing shows with electronic acts
I love playing shows with indie bands
I love playing shows with country bands
I love playing shows with skramz bands
I love playing shows with hip hop acts
The twin cities transgender satanic choir sang on this track about the strength of the trans community
After the recording session I went home, listened to the takes and sobbed. They did such a beautiful job. I’m so proud of my home and my community Can’t wait to release this one

I really wish the first thing I said to emo chiptune girl exciting!!excellent!! wasn’t “it’s so weird seeing your face not on twitter . com”
She made me cry twice. Once during her song online!!ok and then again when she made me eat the spiciest hot sauce she had.
Hello 300ish new followers. My name is anita I’m a diy musician from Minneapolis. I tour a lot and am annoying on social media. Right now I’m obsessed with grindcore and the Mary Tyler Moore show
Trying my hardest not to go buy a bottle right now. I hate that I’m 7 months sober and my brain’s reaction to stress and anxiety is still “drink drink drink”
No way did the owner of this venue book an ENTIRE second bill after ours without telling us He cut the opener 3 songs in to make time for his friend’s band on the second bill
Not to mention we were an all trans girl fronted bill and the 2nd bill was a bunch of nazi looking dudes
Hiii I released the last single for my upcoming album. It’s dedicated to all the trans people at the beginning of their journey. I see you. I love you. You are beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wisconsin DIY is truly lucky to have experienced a band as powerful as
@x_riotnine_x
for these past couple of years. Ian, Danny and Cleo are some of the nicest people I've met in the scene and they're all so fucking talented! Riotnine forever y'all
