So far this weekend- had someone insist on buying the crew lunch, a local restaurant brought us dinner and this morning a former patient’s family bought us coffee. Humbling to know you have made a difference and people remember.

One of the worst firefighter nightmares. He had a heart attack on a fire - fellow brothers doing CPR, transported code 3 on a rig and then airlifted out. Few weeks later -he was back to running calls.
Miss the calls with him backing me up. Memories.

What a day. Started it out with a structure fire 🔥in a metallurgical business 10 min into my shift, 90 degree humid day. Then running medicals all day. Now we get to clean up the trucks and repack hose after the hose testing crew.

It’s hard to watch someone close to you have cancer. It’s hard to watch them fight,but be told they won’t survive. It’s hard to watch them go from a strong athletic person,into a shell of themselves. It’s hard to watch them suffer, unable to stop it or help them.
Cancer sucks.

Participated in a well planned active shooter exercise with pd,fire and ems. Practice makes a better response,hope your able to work with your neighboring agencies to do this.Not able to show any pics of the event but definitely loved the peaceful ride back to the station after.

Today is a reflective day.
Had a rough call last night that ended with a young life being lost. In my personal life, been dealing with someone in my inner circle entering hospice care.
Things can change in an instant. Be present for those in your life.
