@docgotham @mattyglesias There is a distinction to be made between what is okay and what is a firing offense. It's not okay. But assuming this is not being done on company time, I don't see how anyone should be fired for this. You could argue that we should have a right to privacy. Today we don't.

@kohljm That's because she didn't endorse that. You're seeing a cherry picked edit to make you think that.

@MrHolga @SaveStandard Review sunrise/sunset in New York City and you'll see why no one wants to be on standard time for 12 months. No one wants nighttime to be scheduled from 9:30pm to 2:30 am in July.

@littmath @Lptomov82 I suppose it's tautological: If you assume your axioms, then unique structures under those axioms are unique.

@littmath @Lptomov82 I don't think the idea that the precise semantics of an "empty set" depends on the underlying axioms is at all confusing. Maybe I'm unique here.

@littmath @Lptomov82 You're using a very specific set of axioms here.

@littmath @Lptomov82 What you're saying feels more akin to saying that "All operational identities" are the same things. They are and they aren't. Does a group have AN operational identity or THE operational identity?

@bengrossbg I went shopping in SF today for 6 hours. The reality is actually more bleak once you update reality to reflect the number of hollowed out retail storefronts there are.

@ronrule Is this true when you control for SES? My gut says no, but I'd love to see real data.

@boazbaraktcs AI is excellent at interpolation, horrible at extrapolation. People are much better at exploring and exploiting extrapolated spaces than AI.

@NielsHoven You're forgetting public school students. If you survey the school ratings, any school with a 9/10 score is probably pulling families into that district. A rough estimate would add another 5% to your pool. Alternatively, you could look at charter school application volume.

@JaneMolnarMath @rastokke This certainly isn't the case at my kids school, but maybe it's widespread in many other schools?

@DrugGovoruna @NielsHoven I had the more mundane "Armchair BASIC" at 13. Simple, but effective.

@DBrennanCYW @TalkingTier1 @eduleadership Expecting teachers to also be administrators in order to qualify as "good" is pure dysfunction on multiple levels.
