The Victor Meldrew of the Yes movement. ‘Divisive extremist’. I should have an inspirational saying here but can't think of one. My pronouns are zippetty/doodah
A fortnight ago Johnson mocked the Scottish NHS saying it was completely unprepared for Corona virus. Today Corona virus deaths in Scotland are running at less than half the rate of England’s and Boris has Corona virus.
Karma.
Isn’t it extraordinary that Scotland, which invented TV, radar, penicillin, pneumatic tyres, had the world’s largest shipbuilding industry and ran a large chunk of the British Empire, is the only country on earth which is incapable of governing itself or having a currency?
I’ve been hearing the Tories saying that the SNP has destroyed the Scottish National Health Service for quite a while now. Had an appointment for an X ray at 3:15 this afternoon. Arrived at 3:10 was taken at 3:15 and 6 minutes later was back out in the car park.
Hmm...
I remember driving around the Highlands before the EU started giving structural funds, it was single track roads all the way because the UK didn’t give a toss.
Here’s some free advice for the SNP:
Drop the gender nonsense and cut yourself away from the Greens.
Lose Swinney and the rest of the devolutionists.
Start campaigning honestly and constructively for independence and for God’s sake reconcile with Alex Salmond.
Just took a phone call from my local SNP branch asking me for a donation. When I asked what it was for I was told (I kid you not) ‘A ring fenced Referendum fighting fund’.
When I asked where the first one went the answer was, ‘I can’t comment about that’.
Talking to a Belgian yesterday and explaining how the U.K. works vis à vis Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Completely unprompted he replied,
“That’s a colonial relationship”.
I see BBC Scotland is showing ‘Scandals that shocked Scotland’ including the building of the Scottish parliament building. That sounds to me as though it’s skating very close to a breach of electoral law. Unless of course they’re going to balance it with, ‘The McCrone Report’.
1. The circle attempt to have Salmond jailed
2. The jury acquit Salmond
3. The circle get their pals in the media to smear Salmond
4. The media go after Salmond
5. Craig Murray exposes their shenanigans
6. The media go after Murray
Is there a pattern here?
There’s been an incredible onslaught by unionists on the SNP, Nicola Sturgeon and the concept of Scottish independence over the last couple of days.
Something’s up.
I didn’t agree with every stance that Andy Wightman took but I think that what the Scottish Greens have done to him is utterly disgusting. They’re rotten to the core and Patrick Harvie is right at the centre of that.
This BBC report refers to ‘transphobic messages’ an accusation which has not been tested in court and which appears to amount to defamation. Perhaps
@BBC
might consider removing this item.
Remarkable that a woman can be arrested and charged for tweeting a photo of a ribbon while another woman can stand up in front of a crowd of thousands in Trafalgar Square and call for doctors and nurses to be hanged without noticeable consequences.
I see that it is being alleged that on Tuesday of this week, 30 March, officers visited the home of the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, and her husband Peter Murrell in connection with their investigation into the possible disappearance of the £600,000 ring fenced money.
Am I a friend of Alex Salmond?
No.
Do I love Alex Salmond?
No.
Am I a follower of Alex Salmond?
No.
Do I think that Alex Salmond is the most able politician in Scotland?
Yes.
Do I think he’s the man Westminster fears most?
Yes.
That’s why I’ll be voting Alba instead of SNP.
I’ve finally come to the conclusion that Sturgeon is frightened by the thought of actually having to organise independence.
She’s OK with talking about it as a theoretical concept though.
I see the George Washington Bridge in Manhattan had to close due to ice build up. Just waiting for
@agcolehamilton
to condemn the Trump administration.
Sturgeon gone, Lloyd gone, Foote gone, Swinney gone, Murrell on his way out, Humza on the cusp of defeat.
It’s a glorious spring morning with a clean fresh wind blowing through the SNP.
Scotland: The place where you can be caught lying under oath in a criminal court in an attempt to falsely imprison someone & get away without penalty and a guarantee of anonymity.
Also Scotland: The place where you get jail time for reporting the defence case in the same trial.
To all those people throughout the U.K. and beyond who are announcing that the BBC aren’t to be trusted anymore, let me say this:
We told you this in the run up to the indyref in 2014 and, what is more, gave you the evidence.
You chose to ignore it and now they’ve come for you.
‘William Mitchell, 49, said the producer of the programme had asked him to Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, for last week’s broadcast because the area strongly supported the SNP.’
And there you have it, how to make an Indy area appear Unionist.
I have a feeling that the GRA bill is the tipping point where Sturgeon’s support starts draining away. So far she’s got away with her disastrous leadership because hardly anyone has been paying attention. Now the average voter is starting to see for themselves.
We’ve now reached the point the TRAs hoped would never arrive. They’ve been publicly exposed for the violent misogynists they are. It’s all downhill for them now.
News that the Scottish Conservatives plan to boycott any future Holyrood referendum confirms that the Tories have given up all hope of actually winning one.
1. Boris holes up in Chequers
2. Cummings leaks ‘holiday tent’ photos to Daily Mail
3. Mail publishes photos
4. Johnson pretends to be livid as he ‘flees’ from his Scottish holiday.
BBC Scotland might have buckled to pressure from Nicola Sturgeon and her allies and removed the clip of Susie McCabe’s supercilious rant from their timeline but it’s still out there.
I’d forgotten what a class act Alex Salmond is. It’s like watching a university professor at a seminar with a bunch of slightly substandard undergraduates.
It’s farcical that virtually everyone in Scotland knows the identity of woman H who falsely accused Alex Salmond of rape & perjured herself in the witness box. Yet she walks free & anyone who breathes her name will go to jail. I hope the first indy government strips her immunity.
Listening to Jeremy Vine. A caller from Arbroath telling Jeremy that Scottish education and health are a mess. Can’t produce any evidence except, ‘Everybody says this’.
I presume that by ‘everybody’ she means Effie Deans and Jill Stevenson.
I think the basic difference between
@NicolaSturgeon
and
@joannaccherry
is that Nicola believes in managing devolution and gender woo woo and Joanna believes the job of the SNP is to get independence as quickly as possible.
Hand up, I was a member of the Nicola cult in late 2019. I was assuring Stuart Campbell that he was wrong and that she had a secret plan, that cultivating Remainers and fighting Brexit whilst ignoring AUOB & indy was clever tactics.
On 1/1/2021 I learned the unpalatable truth.
I’ve been looking forward to that point in the negotiations when Raab (or his replacement) says, “Well, we’ve got all this oil, gas, fish, whisky...” and Barnier says, “But it’s not really yours, is it?”
The door opens and Nicola Sturgeon walks in.
“Nicola, great to see you!”
Hey
@jackiebmsp
I’m struggling to figure out how persuading the BBC to cancel the extremely popular and vital daily Covid updates, is going to improve the electoral prospects of the Labour party in Scotland. Perhaps you could explain your thinking to me?
I think it’s important that Joanna Cherry doesn’t leave the SNP because we’re going to need an adult to take charge when the Murrells scuttle from the scene.
If the person who made the death threat to Joanna Cherry turns out to be a ‘trans ally’ do you think Nicola will put out a video condemning their action?
Mentioned to Alex Salmond today that John Swinney has said that in future he won’t campaign for independence with him.
Alex’s response: ‘When did he ever?’
I find it difficult to express how much I loathe and despise Nicola Sturgeon. It's on a level with Margaret Thatcher only at least Thatcher was honest about her intentions.
I have nothing to say about the disastrous, near instantaneous collapse of this policy that in my work as an SNP politician I’ve been a major proponent of for many years.
NHS Glasgow health board is taking legal action against a contractor involved in the construction of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, which is ridiculous because everybody knows that the hospital was built by Nicola Sturgeon.
The amount of mud being thrown at Alex Salmond and the Alba party at the moment suggests that they’re seen as a considerable threat to both the UK state and the comfy slippers brigade.
I’ve never watched the Alex Salmond show on RT. I met him once briefly. I don’t know him.
What I do know is that he is the Scottish politician most committed to achieving independence and also the one who’s done most to get us there.
Why do you think they want to destroy him?
Just back from watching the Peter Pan pantomime in Edinburgh. At one point a character who was dressed in a blue costume fell on the stage. Quick as a flash Captain Hook (Grant Stott) shouted,
‘Penalty to Rangers!’
Here’s a tip for you
@NicolaSturgeon
, nobody cares what your pronouns are. What we do care about is when you’re going to call that referendum, which, at the moment, looks like the 12th of Never.
The Scottish Tories have unveiled their two policies today:
- No to a Scottish independence referendum
- More East European fruit pickers to help Kirstene Hair’s dad.
I was
Born, the Scottish Covenant, signed by more than 50% of the voters was ignored.
28 A vote to accept devolution was ignored.
48 We got a parliament.
57 We got an SNP government
63 We got a referendum
Now I’m 66 we’re nearly there.
Be patient.
I was.
Peter Murrell now admits that the membership is 78,000, about 50,000 having resigned since the speech of surrender. How many of those 78,000 are ghost members who’ve resigned but not had their resignation acknowledged?
Curiously, the lost fees amount to around £600,000. 🤔
My understanding was that the condition for a second referendum was fulfilled because we were dragged out of the EU against our will. The longer we leave it until we have that referendum the more tenuous our justification for having it becomes.
What bewilders me is that the unionists are in panic mode because they’ll lose lots of seats to the Alba Party. So why are the SNP getting in such a tizzy?
