Lately, I have been playing around with this infographic leaflet format for #scicomm. When folded ➡️ at a glance a title, a main message, & contact info/QR. Once the leaflet is unfolded ➡️ full-on #infographic detailing the main ideas of a topic. What do you think? 🧐

Today I had the pleasure of MCing the "Catalyzing #OpenScience at Concordia" event. Watch from minutes 18 to 26 to see me interview @nalessandroni, who leads the open science group at Concordia.

🗣️Entering parents' language use separately and not collapsed into a family language strategy makes for better stat models (~50% vs. ~5% of variance explained). Further, mothers' effect on exposure was at least double fathers' = gendered caregiver roles not accounted for in FLS.

Amazing #SRCD23 talk by @ethankutlu about accented speech, racial bias, & bilingualism. Participants find the exact same recordings to be more accented when the face of the speaker is south Asian vs. White. But results are not replicated cross-culturally (no face effect in MTL ).

Amazing #SRCD23 talk by @DalhousieU asoc. Prof Ana Maria Gonzalez. Bilingualism is not only possible but might be beneficial for children with #ASD autism spectrum disorder. Bilingual ASD children retrieve more words than monolingual ASD children!

W/ @JessKosie presenting the results from a Princeton/Concordia collaboration. We looked at synchrony between parents lang use during a play session (e.g. Eng) and the kids language use. We found sync on 1-1 interactions, but not when multiple caregivers are present. #SRCD23
