Helmets — not on my immediate radar but there probably is someone working on this. Augmenting human capabilities — you’ll be amazed at some of the #robotics founders out there working on this: @GenelekT building powered exoskeletons for physical rehabilitation & folks with paralysis. They also have a non powered one for warehousing. Proud to say that I am investor here. Aether Bio Medical building #bionic hands @ObiRobot is building assistive eating devices for those with upper body limitations. In picture: Aether Bionic Hand. I’ll make a proper post on this soon

It’s called randoseru (ランドセル). Originally derived from the Dutch word Ransel meaning backpack. Japanese children use the same bag from their first year of school up until grade 6. There is also a metal clip on the side on which they carry their lunch boxes. Also, the design is such it allows the children to travel hands free — super important since they use public transport from a young age.

As someone who constantly engages with early stage founders in #robotics it is messages like this that make my day. In 2023, sitting at the airport on my way back to the US, I chatted with this young founder who was keen to build #drone or #robot delivery solutions. Seems like he’s on to something now 🦾
