Hilarious moment from Sir Alex Ferguson at Walter Smith's memorial service yesterday when he discovered Walter had offered Archie Knox the Rangers assistant managers job.
Hi, I’ve been asked to post this on behalf of Frank McDougall’s family. Frank sadly passed away this morning in hospital due to heart complications. Thoughts and prayers very much with Frank and his beloved family. RIP legend. 💔
12 yrs ago today one of the nicest, warmest, funniest guys I ever had the pleasure of meeting was cruelly taken from his family. As much as I’m an Aberdeen fan, Celtic's Tommy Burns should never be forgotten by any true Scottish football fan. He was a wonderful guy. Sadly missed.
Of all the photographs taken at yesterday’s tribute to Neale Cooper at Pittodrie this one encapsulates how much he was adored by his former team mates. Sorry, not sure who took it.

Happy Gothenburg Day everybody!
Last Saturday my brother Peter and I lost our mum. She had been suffering from dementia for many years but now thankfully she is at peace. Like dad, we will miss her terribly. Sleep well mum ❤️I would like to thank all at Bennachie View for their incredible care and compassion
Haaaaaaaaaaaa knocked them out of both cups!! Oh my lord what a result! Right, it’s late I’m off to my mattress, sorry my bed! Night troops! Yaaaaaaaasssss!!!!!

Absolutely devastated to hear of Bertie Auld’s passing. Bertie was big mates with my late Grandpa, who adored him. I met him many times as a kid but when I was in his company as an adult he brightened my day no end. My thoughts are with his family. Sleep well Bertie. ❤️🙏
31 yrs ago 2day my dad was woken by a call which horrified him. An oil rig had exploded in the North Sea and they needed help. Dad organised 4 Red Adair to be flown in to help put the fire out on the Piper Alpha. 167 brave men lost their lives that awful night. Never forgotten.

Happy Gothenburg Day everybody! Look out for two special ‘zoom’ interviews coming later today ❤️🏆🇦🇹
I've spent the morning trying to put some words together to convey my thoughts on Bertie Auld. He was a family friend and a man I will never forget. I hope I have done him justice.

Don’t usually post thoughts like this but today’s an exception. I’ve been extremely disappointed 2 c the abuse directed towards our former keeper
@jamlang22
Jamie is a fantastic guy who worked tirelessly for the Dons. He has nothing but good words for our club & deserves respect.
Absolutely devastated to hear of Neale Cooper’s passing. Forever an
@AberdeenFC
legend. He will be missed by so many. Thoughts and prayers with his lovely family.

14 years ago today, former Celtic & Motherwell midfielder Phil O'Donnel died on the field of play. He was one of the nicest guys I had the pleasure of meeting, he should never be forgotten. ❤️🙏
Makes his international debut at the age of 33 after a 16-year wait, one man club, nearly 530 appearances for
@AberdeenFC
, received his first cap and does not put a foot wrong. If there was ever someone to inspire to it’s Andrew Considine. Never give up on your dream!
36 years ago today my old man took me to a game which changed my life forever. With 13 minutes left v Bayern Munich, trailing on away goals
@AberdeenFC
produced two moments of unparalleled joy in the space of one minute. The most incredible night! Will never forget it.
All I care about right now is that Stephen and Carla receive the proper support to move on. As much as I think this is the correct decision this will not stop me feeling desperately sad for Stephen. He had to take the job, he had to give it a go; the club needs a shake big time!
26 years ago today, the most unimaginable horror occurred at Dunblane Primary School. 16 innocent children and their brave teacher were gunned down in an act which goes beyond any understanding or reason. They will never be forgotten ❤️ RIP.
This past week, for the 1st time in my working life, I was made redundant. I'm excited to be leaving Qatar & moving to Germany/Austria. I'm going freelance so with football restarting across Europe I'm available if anybody wishes to hire an experienced Senior Football Producer.
After Pele’s sad passing today, this was sent to me. It turns out he was a shareholder of
@AberdeenFC
. Thanks to Nick Archibald for bringing it to our attention. Amazing 🙏
What I find particularly sad about this is the fact that through all our divisions we have so many hard working honest professionals where some even have to juggle full-time jobs to make a living. To disrespect fellow players in this manner is shameful & spiteful. Poor show.
'The standard of football is PATHETIC up there!'
Watch as
@Joey7Barton
, who spent less than six months at
@RangersFC
, gives his damning verdict on Scottish football... 🏴👎

“Aberdeen didn’t have any idea against us...we showed today we are a class above Aberdeen” take this quote and paint it in big bold letters inside the home dressing room and leave it there all season!

Absolutely amazing to see
@AberdeenFC
‘s Gothenburg Greats on stage at Pittodrie tonight to pay tribute to their former team mate Neale Cooper. Such an emotional evening. As Joe Harper said the North Star is shinning bright tonight. ❤️
If you ever wanted to hear the greatest co-commentator's reaction to any goal, this is it! RIP Ian St John, your reaction always gives me goosebumps. ❤️
I would just like to gently remind a handful of English broadcasters and journalists that Sir Alex had a life before Man Utd, here’s a reminder:
✅ 3 Premier Division Titles.
✅ 4 Scottish Cups.
✅ 1 League Cup.
✅ 1 Cup Winners Cup.
✅ 1 Super Cup.
✅ Champions with St Mirren
Hi, here is an unplanned blog, just a few words on a guy I got to know and adore on the eleventh anniversary of his passing - the quite wonderful Tommy Burns. ?
30 yrs ago 2day my dad was woken by a call which horrified him. An oil rig had exploded in the North Sea and they needed help. Dad arranged for Red Adair to be flown in to help put the fire out on the Piper Alpha. 167 brave men lost their lives that awful night. Never forget them
A year ago today, former
@AberdeenFC
manager and the first British player to lift the European Cup, Billy McNeill, sadly lost his battle with dementia. He was an incredible man who I adored. I penned this tribute to him after his passing. RIP Cesar.
So 32 years ago today
@AberdeenFC
won the Scottish Cup beating Hearts 3-0. The week before Hearts lost the League Title to Celtic on the last day. The story below is from
@Willie_Garner5
who was Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant. The mind of Sir Alex in a nutshell!
In what was a master stroke, Alex Ferguson asked Scotland manager Jock Stein to accompany his
@AberdeenFC
team to Sweden. His contribution was invaluable. Here is is speaking to Grampian TV just ahead of kick-off in Gothenburg.
I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the astonishing amount of messages I received yesterday after mum died. I really am very grateful to you all. I’m so sorry to read so many of you have family members struggling with the condition. Thinking of you ❤️❤️
In what was a heartfelt tweet by
@NeilSimmy8
earlier he mentioned Neale Cooper's humour and his Sir Alex impressions. This clip epitomises just that.

On this day back in 1931 former Celtic and Scotland goalkeeper John Thomson was fatally injured in an accidental collision on the field of play. He sadly died in hospital later that day. John was only 22. He remains much loved to this day.
So, my friends at
@AVCMedia
helped me convert a VHS tape to digital format from a charity game I played in nearly 25 years ago. The chap in the light brown coat watching on is my late dad. It’s the first time I’ve seen him on film since he died in 2007. Feels amazing! ❤️
I would like to wish
@nmcginn10
nothing but the very best of luck on his new adventure. 358 games played, 87 goals scored for
@AberdeenFC
, an absolutely brilliant guy who deserves nothing but the best.
Just catching up with this....
I know this lovely lassie da
You do son?
Aye we’re going on a date
Excellent son
A wee bit later....
How did it go son?
She never turned up da, bitch!
Oh no son!
It’s OK da, I didn’t really fancy her anyway, I’m too good for her!
So bloody happy tonight! Once again bouncing back!!
1st goal for Scott McKenna
1st start for Frank Ross
100th win for THE BOSS
Over 2K traveling support 👏🏼👏🏼
CONCOMITANT you REDS!!
Today, former
@AberdeenFC
manager Billy McNeill would have celebrated his 80th birthday. This is a clip of him talking about taking over the job from Ally MacLeod. I adored that man ❤️
25 years ago today the most unimaginable horror occurred at Dunblane Primary School. 16 innocent children and their brave teacher were gunned down in an act which goes beyond any understanding or reason. They will never be forgotten ❤️
Today former
@AberdeenFC
manager and the first British man to lift the European Cup, Billy McNeill celebrates his 78th birthday. A truly wonderful man who continues his brave battle with dementia.
Gary Mackay-Steven update | The manager confirmed that Gary was sitting up and, while he’s out for Wednesday, he’s confident that he should be available for next weekend.

Morning, on this day back in 1983, only 10 days after winning the Cup Winners Cup,

So earlier today I spoke with former
@AberdeenFC
midfielder Robert Connor for an upcoming blog. I asked him to make me a wee 20 second promo video and this is what he sent me 😂😂😂😂
