@thisjanedoe @JayWamsted I pulled Anne of Green Gables off my library shelf in my 4th grade class. Tired of explaining the dialogue tag "ejaculate". Here's a good read about the use of that particular word in older literature.

@howie_hua Place value as a stand alone standard. It's so unengaging!!! Much better to blend it into other standards conceptually.

@EDUwithEmily Had a student show up with a dead bird in her lunch box. She found it on the way to school. Thought our kindergarten teacher who loved science would want to see it.

@JayWamsted I asked a kid if they wanted graph, lined, or blank copy paper. He said graph and blank. Said he wanted blank to make origami if he got stressed during testing. Nope, not giving you blank paper for origami sir. I also collected a few pieces of art. 🤦♀️

@teachergoals I factory reset an old cell phone and connected it to the school wifi. No cell phone plan needed. School email and apps are on that phone. I LEAVE IT AT SCHOOL. No work emails or apps are on my personal phone at home. It's totally liberating.

@whizzing_fizbee @OBrienSci I totally agree with no school email or apps outside of school. I took an old phone, factory reset it, connected it to the school wifi, and added my school email and apps. That phone stays at school. No cell data plan needed.
