I wonder if the efficiency of Deepseek vs American models is a matter of language. In Chinese I'd imagine you tokenized the words (each character) where as in English you tokenize each letter.

I think AI tools that are more advanced than just text/image based outputs or information synthesis are incredibly frustrating to use. A lot of promos are just base case scenarios but if you actually try it and let that initial magic moment pass, you'll realize it gets stuck and can't actually complete the task. One metric I'm curious about is the ratio of monthly to yearly subscribers for any of this new tech. How many are just trying it out?
