CUBUS KUNSTHALLE DUISBURG || AUSSTELLUNG || BIS ZUM 19. JANUAR 2025. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Am 15. November 2024 um 18:30 Uhr wurde die CUBUS KUNSTHALLE eröffnet, die mit großem Interesse zahlreicher Kunstinteressierter verbunden war und Frau Edeltraud Klabuhn, Bürgermeisterin der Stadt Duisburg sich in ihrer Eröffnungsrede bei den Künstlern und die Leiterin Frau Dr. Claudia Schäfer bedankte. Der in der Türkei geborene und heute in Köln lebende Künstler Ali Zülfikar stellt in der Cubus Kunsthalle Duisburg die kleine Kunstwerke beim Kunstmarkt 24 aus. Seine teilweise großformatigen, in Bleistift Tönen gehaltenen Werke beeindrucken durch ihre Genauigkeit. Ali Zülfikar, Jahrgang 1971 und geboren in der Türkei, ist ein Meister. Nicht wegen seiner zahlreichen internationalen Ausstellungen bis in die USA, sondern vor allem wegen seiner Porträts. Es sind Meisterwerke dieser Gattung. Der erste Blick schon erinnert an die Vorbilder Dürer und Leonardo. Die Spuren in den Gesichtern sind wie Stürme, die Farben wie eine Natursymphonie. Zülfikar hat sich mit dem Porträt einer schwierigen Aufgabe gewidmet. Er entwickelt einen tiefgründigen Bildraum für jedes Gesicht. Schicht für Schicht arbeitet er die Persönlichkeit des Menschen heraus, gefangen in der Perspektive und frei werdend zugleich. So entstehen die Porträts wie aus sich selbst heraus. Deutlich wird dieser Prozeß über die strukturale Qualität seiner Malerei, die wie aus einer geheimnisvollen Sphäre auftaucht. Beispielsweise wird seine Kunst, alte Menschen darzustellen, zur Kunst des Alterns. HES DAM || BEYAZTOPRAK VILLAGE, BİNGÖL || THE DRAMA OF THE FISH In Beyaztoprak Village, located 7 km from the center of Bingöl, there is a HES dam. When the gates are closed, the water in the channels recedes, leaving the fish stranded as the water level drops. The women of the village take this as an opportunity to enter the canal and throw the fish they catch onto the fields. The men then collect the fish that are dying in the fields and place them into sacks. The fish, gasping for air and fluttering on the ground, die in a dramatic way—just as captured in the camera of my dear friend Ömer Doğan. Normally, when the dam gates are closed, spiral systems should be installed to transport the aquatic life back to the lake. Even if the dam managers in Turkey are aware that fish are dying in the canal, they remain irresponsible and callous. I hereby call on all @UNESCO officials and conservation organizations: Stop this massacre! @WWF @WWF_Aktion @tarkan

Ali Zülfikar versteht es wie kaum ein anderer, das Wesen des Menschen mit wenigen, präzisen Strichen in Zeichnungen von außergewöhnlicher Ausdruckskraft zu transformieren. Obwohl seine Werke oft monochrom oder mit minimalem Farbeinsatz gestaltet sind, gelingt es ihm, eine Tiefe und Lebendigkeit zu erzeugen, die seine Porträts geradezu zum Leben erwecken. Seine großformatigen Arbeiten verlangen nach ungeteilter Aufmerksamkeit und hinterlassen einen bleibenden Eindruck von Menschlichkeit und dem existenziellen Bedürfnis, gesehen zu werden. Bereits 2012 traf der Fotograf Andre Rüssel Lionel Messi in Barcelona, was Ali Zülfikar inspirierte, ein Porträt des Fußballstars zu schaffen, basierend auf verschiedenen Fotografien von Messi. Seit über 25 Jahren widmet sich Zülfikar der Darstellung lebender Legenden, die unterschiedliche Charaktere und soziale Hintergründe repräsentieren. Seine Porträts umfassen Persönlichkeiten aus Kunst, Politik, Umweltaktivismus und Kulturgeschichte. Zu diesen zählt auch Messi, einer der herausragendsten Sportler unserer Zeit.
