Travel is extremely close to my heart, being immersed in curatorial visions and knowledge has grown me tenfold.
The first big project we ran
@BlackCuratorial
had to give space to this kind of play & educational immersion.
I'm very proud to announce the FLY ME OUT FUND!
🇧🇧🇧🇧
One thing about us.. We're gonna fly tf out to expand our curatorial sensibilities!
We've been cooking up a new fund for Black Curators in the UK & Barbados to expand their cultural references.
The FLY ME OUT FUND is now open for applications.
APPLY NOW:
The EDL public list of locations to target nationwide is most probably a decoy.
The nation needs to be prepared for pop up riots in places not on the list.
They turned up in Reading a couple hours ago and that wasn’t on the list.
Stay vigilant in surrounding areas
Black Men get FREE therapy here.
90% of those taking up Black Minds Matter's therapy offer are womxn, despite Black Caribbean and young Black African men being revealed to be at higher risk of suicide in the UK. Mandem let's start talking it out.
Happy blickity blackity black history month.
Not multicultural history month but BLACK HISTORY MONTH.
Anyone who tries it this month will be sent an inflated invoice.
K fanx bye haveagreatmonth xoxo
I find it fascinating how white people in the workplace can claim banter for bullying people they don't know but as soon as a Black person lays a boundary to admonish their overfamiliarity, they're an aggressive bully.
Fascinating.
“Black bodies are policed in the streets and in the classroom … [Research] demonstrates that black boys are viewed as four and five years older than they are."
This is why
@LizBettyKerr
's work is sooooooo important!
2 years of procrastination but I finally made my website. I think I like it, more projects pending but have a gander and tell a friend mans open for business.
So I've decided I'm starting up a workshop programme to facilitate black histories and dreaming in predominately black secondary schools across the UK.
I've been facilitating for 7 years & seen transformation always comes from knowledge with love
If you're a teacher, shout me.
I’ve been living alone for almost a year now and the amount of healing, joy, intentionality and patience it has taught me is truly remarkable.
I remember being 9 and dreaming of the life I’ve been living. Alhamdulilah always.
“My father tells me about police brutality in the 80s, my brothers tell me about police brutality that happens today.”
@aliyahhasinah
says that conversations sparked by George Floyd's death aren’t “new” they’re just “conversations that white people are more privy to now.”
Ya bish is in a book celebrating brummie gyaldem, dead and alive including Immy Kaur, Denise Lewis and many more badass womxn.

Yesterday a statue of Nelson was taken down in Bridgetown Barbados. Next November the Island will be a republic.
To understand the insidiousness of the displacement of Africans worldwide study Barbados' history and present. This was were the forced diaspora began.
Any movement/organisation that does not centre those who are most marginalised in their leadership will always recreate the systems of oppression they sought to dismantle.
Imagine a white woman actually asked me to change the way I write poetry so she could understand it better.
*slow blink*
Like say my life’s mission is to be understood by you. I’m genuinely still bewildered
I'm a curator. My role in this is caring for us first & foremost and then communicating our history/stories into tangible space(s) and creating new versions of possibilities that make us feel seen & loved.
That what I can contribute.
I've never felt this more urgently than now.
Good morning, in light of recent events we are commissioning pieces from black female writers only to speak on the tragedies that have taken place. If you are interested in sharing your opinion on police brutality, white privilege etc, come write for us
BLACK CURATORIAL LABS COMING JAN 2021
I’ve been developing this for the last 2 years. A space for us to come together and play. I want us to dream new visions and bring new discourse to the curatorial realm.

Black pound day may feel superficial to some who have intentionally been buying black for time
But the same way protests bring heat to socio-political issues, this campaign brings heat to socio-economic needs.
Both can exist. In fact they must. This is an awareness raising act
I’m actually tired of being treated like a mug by under qualified ytpipo in institutions that love to profit off of you living through history’s trauma but pay you in peanuts, opportunity and micro-aggression.
4 years ago I started concepting a project called the
@BlackCuratorial
Labs. I researched for 3 years, trialing & testing things before making it a business this May.
Next Saturday we have our first event from a 2018 idea & I can't actually believe it.
To all the white bois who went to see
#blackpanther
and mocked the African accents, I hope your hairline recedes at 21, your skin expires like day old milk and a black woman gets that job you really wanted.
Ameen.
Just to be clear none of us who have departed from the UK blm organising group have taken any money from the fund. All the money remains with gofundme until the remaining UKBLM group publicly publish the accounts.
No scam has taken place. We no longer align ourselves with UKBLM
'Loving' directed by me, (welp) premieres this Thursday on
@NataalMedia
A short docu-film exploring womxn's philosophies of living a life centering love and learning to love in your 20s
Thank you
@CalebFemi_
for commissioning da ting &
@CIVIC_SQUARE
for supporting
More to come
There’s a home for all of us in decolonising. Let’s start reimagining futures of inclusion where black womxns bodies aren’t collateral damage.
@TEDxYouthBrum
2019
I think it’s so funny that there were so many museums that didn’t want to work with me re the Decolonial work or consulting I do until now.
Because are you actually about the work or scared of optics. This shit ain’t cute or pretty
My sister turned 6 yesterday and today she told me she wants to be like me when she grows up.
I'm genuinely speechless because I've always scrutinised ALL of my actions as the eldest
DANG IT *cries again*
Things I have no time for...
• micro-aggressions (that shit’lol take 10 years off your life)
• white people calling me articulate in surprise
• unseasoned food
• fake deep image gang who pull ladders away after they’ve climbed them
• cranes in the sky (gentrification)
Got asked to get involved with the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Just to be CLEAR!!!
Don’t contact me on colonial fuckery, I’m not that bitch, I’ll never be that bitch.
My work is literally the antithesis of the Commonwealth and what it stands for.

Can we go-curate a thread of black led organisations OUTSIDE of London doing the work to increase black life chances, frontline and otherwise.
They need donations too!
Black Project Managers who have an incredible eye for detail and are organised to develop work of HIGH QUALITY. Must be interested in curating and
Where you at?
If people wanna say fighting against an apartheid state is anti-Semitic. You must be mad.
Zionism parading as Judaism to justify genocide is the actual anti-Semitism here, don’t get it twisted.
Saying “we’re doing this because we’re Jewish” is violent & deeply anti-Semitic
Benjamin Zephaniah laced his words with kindness and light.
I will never forget the tenderness he spoke with in conversation and the gift of emboldening that he gave every black British GCSE student ❤️
Beyond a pioneer, Professor Zephaniah was himself first and foremost. 💔RIP
People really need to stop with this “black community, black community” ishhh when trying to engage audiences. There are communitIES plural & period!
Your marketing is failing because you’re doing up oyinbo homogenization & scarcity tactics in cities FULL of DIFFERENT Black pipo
Black and Brown curator gang,
I want us to reimagine what a decolonial curatorial practice could look like. What would it be to you and what are the current problems that need decolonising?
I wanna hear it all, ideas, thoughts, solutions, babylon anecdotes. Less go!
Institutions and curators who want to “pick your brains” about the emotional and intellectual labour you’ve done your whole life can pay your consultancy fee.
Rehashing my trauma isn’t something I enjoy doing, the least you can do is pay for the privilege. K fanx bye xoxo
I can honestly say I don’t know where the London creative scene would be without Tobi Kyeremateng.
Not only an icon but a rarseclart pillar. Give thanks for
@bobimono
in your morning prayers today.

An immersive poverty experience is coming to
#Birmingham
this month allowing both adults and children to experience the sights, sounds and smells of a developing country.
Shoutout the Muslim girl on airport security who let me have two plastic bags and said to pretend I’m holding one for my friend.
You’re a real one. The solidarity is strong
It's
#InternationalMuseumDay
so let's remember that western museums were established as colonial constructs to put colonial exploits and stolen artefact on display as cabinets of 'exotic' curiosity.
Have a great day

Can we not make historical dramas with Black People in that are outside of European ‘Renaissance’ histories?
There is a whole globe with its own histories and periods outside of Europe or the US.
UCKINNNN ELLL! Thank you guys from my whole chest. I’m extremely overwhelmed and can’t quite believe it. Y’all special af. The crowdfunder will stay up for a while longer & all monies raised will go towards putting the learnings into action through black curatorial labs/projects
