We need a step change in financing nature recovery including rewilding, if we are to significantly restore biodiversity, mitigate the impacts of climate change and ensure a sustainable future for food production. Here’s our @RewildingB report recommending how this could be done.

@Sallyjoagain A fair question. Mainly because if they don’t fund it and make it mandatory in the process, then it won’t be done properly - ie some will and some won’t. And also bear in mind that historic govt farming policies have driven farmers into practices which increase disease risk.

@RossCherrington @BroughtonSanc @gow_derek None in this particular section of stream. Too ephemeral most of the time. Anyway there are dozens of things we need to worry about when it comes to the demise of the Salmon - and Beavers are definitely not one of them.

@_RobbieMoore 20% of our farmland produces 3% of our calorific need (Dimbleby) and we waste 40% of the food we produce to eat. The figs easily stack up so not an issue at all with regard to food independence. The challenge will be to do it in a way that allows a just transition for farmers.

I knew this was coming but great to see it in writing - not least seeing @Natures_Voice CEO using the word #rewilding when it is relevant. This site is definitely on the rewilding spectrum alongside many others like it and we should celebrate that.
