Loved being on this panel @CitizenZoo Rewilding Futures conference. I was sat next to a man who is ‘de-extinctioning’ the Tasmanian Tiger - with that level of ambition in the world surely we in England can get that wild beaver license framework over the line @TonyJuniper 😉🦫👍
My privilege to moderate a group of outstanding panelists at the Rewilding Futures conference in #Cambridge today, & to share some of what @NaturalEngland believes is needed to achieve Nature’s recovery. Well done @CitizenZoo for convening such a brilliant & important meeting.

Brilliant to be exhibiting at Oxford Real Farming Conference this week. Go and say hi to @evabishop and @Jesschappell100 if you are there - they are talking beavers, buffers and more! 👍🦫🙏
Heading to #ORFC2025? You can find us at Oxford Town Hall (9–10 Jan), where we’re hosting a stand to highlight the power of river buffers and why governments across Britain should provide financial support for their creation.

Wonderful footage of beavers reinforcing their dam. As ecosystem engineers they excel at building and maintaining dams. When water levels rise or damage occurs, they instinctively repair them within 24–48 hours, keeping habitats resilient and functional. All at no cost to humans.
Nature’s Rapid Response Team Witness a beaver family as they diligently maintain & reinforce a dam in response to rising water levels in their territory. Woody-leaky dams are a well-known river restoration tool for slowing water and creating habitats that benefit many species.
