Stockholm... Two of Carl Larsson's late 1890s frescoes depicting the history of Swedish art in the entrance hall of the Nationalmuseum of Sweden. With thanks to the team at the museum for inviting me to Stockholm, and treating me to a wonderful tour of the collection.

Charlotte Perriand | 6. In the late 1950s, Air France launched a marketing campaign named: “the leading edge of progress”. The problem was that most of its ticket offices and travel agencies looked far from progressive. Perriand was hired to change that.

Charlotte Perriand | 3. In the 1930s, Perriand’s politics became increasingly radical. As well as campaigning for affordable social housing, she designed inexpensive shelters and furniture to be made from standardised industrial components, like this one.

Charlotte Perriand | 2. This photograph of Perriand, taken in 1928 by her colleague and future lover, Pierre Jeanneret, depicts her as such a confident, accomplished and alluring young woman. It has not only become a totem of modernism, but of feminism.
